Owner: Dostroug Chainarm Head Coach: Dostroug Chainarm Race: Dwarves - Ironbreakers Drakes of the Forge Dostroug Chainarm is the main force behind this team. He was an old star from way back in the beginning of Blood Bowl. He suffered an unfortunate incident with a runaway Deathroller that left him with just a single arm. Because he had alot of wealth, he was able to afford an arm made of chainmail. Thus his name was changed to Dostroug Chainarm and his ancient name was lost in the history books. When he lost his arm, he spent years drinking his sorrows away until one day he met an old teammate that was drinking his sorrows away too! He had lost his coach and his team had collapsed. Dostroug was inspired by his tale, and vowed that no one should have that feeling again. He got a team up and running, gathered wealth and sponsors. Now he just needed players! He was determined that this wasnt going to be the average dwarven team, he wanted to make something unique. He went in search of his recruits amongs the biggest (relatively speaking!) and baddest there was, the ironbreakers! Few were willing to give up their station among the ironbreakers until Dostroug negotiated a deal in which they would be allowed to fight wars and protect their holds for parts of the year, if only they promised to join the team and practice the rest of the time. He also called in a favour from a runesmith friend who conjured him a massive Golem to support the guys! He tried convincing the guys that speed was important in blood bowl, and losing some of the armour wasnt going to hurt them, but they must have watched blood bowl before, cause they kept it on! insisting that slow and steady wins the game, and armour saves the body from harm. We shall see if they are right... Seasons The Ironbreakers joined the league midway in the winter of the 4th season. Dostroug quickly went looking for teams his guys could meassure up against. The first takers were a very brave Halfling team. A classic pick me up game to give the boys some succes. The Golem impressed everyone by badly hurting a Treeman! Next Dostroug tried to show the guys why it was a good idea with speed, he got them a game vs. a skaven team with 3 gutten runners. They guys saw that speed could be good, and one of them actually managed to practice so much he increased his speed! They lost the game tho.. big time. Last team of the winter season was beastmen. Dostroug wanted the guys to have a good fight to finish off winter (and make sure the guys wanted to return in the spring!), it was a tough game, but the boys really did well, and again the Golem showed that big targets are his speciality, badly hurting a Minotaur this time! Players Dostroug Chainarm has yet to name a captain, but as annouched that it will happen during the spring campaign. |
