While Jaco has a tendency to leave the ball on the field as he spends
time waving to his many fans - when all his team really needs him to get
the ball in his hands and if possible <i>away</i> from the opposition -
he has performed admirably on Kick-Offs and made sure that the ball
didn't spend too long in the wrong part of the field.
While not being the epitome of stability Jaco is steadily improving and
might just turn into a legendary passer some day.
Jaco's passes are now more reliable than before and he seems to have
obtained the focus on the ball he was lacking early on.
<i>'As one drummer who played with Jaco Pastorius put it,
"There’s bass before Jaco, and there’s bass after Jaco."
A virtuoso jazz bassist who had crossover appeal with a rock
audience, Jaco shattered all previous conceptions of what a bass
player was supposed to do (hold down the groove) and elevated
bass playing to an art form where his creativity was limited only
by his technical skills - and those never seemed limited at all.'</i>

Dizzy is a giant as in both name and size and has proven a solid support
on the field for his team-mates. Let's see what time will bring this less
than gentle Giant.
<i>"Dizzy Gillespie was one of the principal developers of bop in the early
1940s, and his styles of improvising and trumpet playing were imitated
widely in the 1940s and 1950s. Indeed, he is one of the most influential
players in the history of jazz."</i>
Miles is fast and flexible. He does not let the opposition dictate him on
the field and quickly goes were he is needed possessing both sound
tactical understanding and great talent.
<i>"Miles Davis was the "Picasso of Jazz," reinventing himself and his
sound endlessly in his musical quest. He was an artist that defied (and
despised) categorization, yet he was the forerunner and innovator of
many distinct and important musical movements. "</i>
Coltrane is a great all-round player and has proven to be as innovative
in BB as in his music - and has made magic together with Miles in both
studio and on the grass. This powerful duo has proven their worth
several times.
<i>"Coltrane's trademark was his unique sound which bespoke a
relentless search for perfection yet was always, even in the most
elevated realms of abstraction, compellingly passionate and alive."</i>
Monk's agility quickly made him the top-scorer of the team. The coach will
try to retain him so he doesn't burn out too quickly and has also forced
Monk to work on his blocking skills in order to keep him alive and further
improve his use to the team. Monk is a more than worthy member of the
Giants.
<i>"Thelonious Sphere Monk is recognized as one of the most
influential figures in the history of Jazz. He was one of the architects of
bebop and his impact as a composer and pianist has had a profound
influence on every genre of music. "</i>
<i>"Arguably the most inventive bassist in jazz… His virtuosity on the
bass surpasses anyone else that I have known” –Oscar Peterson<i>

Ira has been practicing his tackle methods and has developed a
new way to bring down the opposition. Unfortunately this teqnique has
the drawback of requiring more space to move in meaning a reduction
in the amount of armour he can wear effectively.
<i>"Songwriter, known for his collaborations with his brother, George
Gershwin. The two wrote hit songs for such musicals as Porgy and
Bess, Ziegfeld Follies and Lady Be Good. Many of his songs have been
performed by acting/dancing legends Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers and
Chet Baker. "</i>
After having spent much of his time recieving blows on the LOS,
Kenny has proven to be a talented kicker and will from now on hold this
position on the team.
<i>"Not since Julian "Cannonball" Adderley has there been an alto
player in jazz wielding as much influence and inspiration on a
generation of players, from America to Australia, Italy to Istanbul, Kenny's
sound and technique can be detected in the playing of those countries'
finest up-and-coming saxophonists."</i>
<i>"Django Reinhardt has astounded and thrilled numerous
generations of guitar players and jazz lovers with his amazing command
of the guitar."</i>
The audience loves Parker. In the team's first three matches he has
managed to get every single MVP but not a single TD, int., cas or pass. It
must surely be his charisma and sturdy performance that makes him
such a crowdpleaser.
Upon recieving his 4th MVP award in the team's 7th game Parker
decided it was time to hone his tackle skills. He performs admirably but
still hasn't showed any interest in any particular form of play.
<i>"Charlie Parker was one of the most influential improvising soloists
in jazz, and a central figure in the development of bop in the 1940s. A
legendary figure in his own lifetime, he was idolized by those who
worked with him, and he inspired a generation of jazz performers and
composers."
">>Don't play the saxophone. Let it play you.<<" </i>
Mingus has managed to miss 4 games (not even counting the
time this makes him spend in the dug-outs) due to gouged eyes
and similar injuries. Some claim that Mingus secretly sneaks back to
the bars in the cities of Reikland to play a gig or two from time to time
while enjoying a few cold drinks. The coach had no comments when
questioned about Mingus' lack of stability.
After a one-on-one talk with the coach Mingus is steadily improving and
hasn't missed a match in a while as he keeps building up his skills.
Perhaps he has a future on the team after all.
It seems Mingus' future will be on the line of scrimmage as he got hit
hard by some dwarves (along with alot of his other team-mates) and
doesn't really show the agility to do anything fast paced. One somehow
has to admire how he takes his beatings for the team like a man.
<i>"One of the most important figures in twentieth century American
music, Charles Mingus was a virtuoso bass player, accomplished
pianist, bandleader and composer."</i>
