Harrison Ford's Career
Harrison Ford plays Bob Falfa
While not a highlight of Harrison Ford's career, he does a good job with it. More importantly, American Graffiti introduced Ford to George Lucas. And we all saw how well that worked out for both of them. That's why American Graffiti is included with the Star Wars Trilogy to make the four black orc blocker set; Ford's collaboration with Lucas has been monumental.

Harrison Ford plays Col. G. Lucas
Harrison plays a pivotal but ultimately meaningless part of the army officer who first assigns Capt. Benjamin Willard (Martin Sheen) to find Col. Walter Kurtz (Marlon Brando). It is a bit part. However, a bit part in a movie of this caliber is considerably better than most leading roles out there.

Harrison Ford plays Rusty Sabich
I have yet to see this. Originally, this lineman was named after the film at random, when I picked names of movies which I knew did badly at the box office. However, based on the success of the player "Presumed Innocent," I may have to go out and rent the film.
Harrison Ford plays Indiana Jones
Our protagonist gets his first starring role, and comes out in a big way. This film cements Ford's celebrity as a force in Hollywood to be reckoned with. He creates an architype for athletic, courageous, intelligent, funny, and morally upstanding heroes that is often immitated, but never recaptured. The other two (or now three I hear) Indiana Jones movies never lived and will never live up to the precident set by the first one. It is only fitting that "Raiders of the Lost Ark" the Orc Blitzer should perform in the same way.
