12/3/04 was a sad day for the students of KAMU, as the best player in KAMU history inexplicably walked away from the game today in disgust. The team had been playing very badly of late, and he just couldn't handle it anymore. Yes,
Larry Long Legs has retired from the team.
At the time of retirement, he was:
#3 all time in Dwarven SPP's at 157 (in 54 games), just 18 spps from becoming only the 2nd dwarven legend ever
#2 all time Dwarven Scorer at 37 TD's (tied with Jiolk), only 11 TD's from the top dwarf, Kalde Skald.
In the almost 11 years since his retirement, many have surpassed this accomplishment.
Feeling increasingly dissatisfied with retired life, and seeing how none of his replacements had been able to fill his shoes, Larry comes out of retirement on 9/10/15, replacing his Nephew, Nelson Longlegs.
Will he be able to help the team out? or will his 10+ years away from the pitch hurt him? Fans are waiting to see.
1st game back vs
Pact of Fire in the 1st round of FUMBBL Cup XIV, leading the Techies to a 2-1 victory!
in the 54 games before retirement, his stats were: 20cp, 37TD, 3 Cs, 4MVP. Note that his Rushing, blocks, passes and foul stats will not be accurate, as he played most (if not all) of his pre-retirement games before those stats were implemented.
Previous players at this position:
Larry Long Legs His 1st stint with the team ended in retirement, but he came bak (un-retired)
Larry Long Legs, Jr Was not living up to his Dad's accomplishments and the fans grew increasingly fed up with him. Their frustations eventually lead to him being beat up and killed by an angry mob of fans.
6Cp, 2Td, 2Mvp, 11 G, dead
Larry 2cp, 4 games, dead. We hired him just because his name was Larry. This was not a good reason to hire any player!
Nelson Longlegs is the nephew of KAMU great Larry Long Legs. He is trying to fill the big shoes of his Uncle. Niggled in Game 99 (his game 17) while trying to GFI. apothecary left me with Niggle or Niggle choice. Nelson retired when Larry decided to come out of retirement as no one really could fill his shoes.
