Ander is the team captain, both on and off the pitch.

As the team left the village, they encountered Mygos, the local monster.
The team cowered, but was ready to fight and die, their dreams of bloody sport broken.

But before the minotaur attacked, Ander reacted, and spoke.
He told the minotaur to come play blood bowl with them, and become a star. He promised the minotaur a halfling every night.

The minotaur laughed and told them that sounded fun for sure. But he didnt know how to play. If ander could make him catch a ball, he would join them, otherwise he'd eat them.

Ander narrowed his eyes, and grabbed a baby pig, brought for the journey as food, and threw it so hard into the minotaurs chest he fell over. So when Mygos regained his senses he was on his back, his hand on the baby pig on his chest.
Mygos was impressed, and beleives he can handle the ball quite well, and plays with the Holmgang Champions to this day.

Mygos was not one of the villagers. He was the local monster, who over the years had killed several men of the village.
The team picked him up travelling south, where he joined them under special circumstances that were met by Ander, the team captain.
