Christopher Steelhelm is the New Bashers' captain and one of its hopeful star runners. He is a tad nervous about his position, as he was until quite recently a runner in one of the old Bashers' farm teams until he learned he was being sent up when the new team was organized.

In addition to his ball-handling training, which will eventually be taken to the next stage, Christopher is learning some of the blocking techniques most of his team-mates already know and might even get a specialized passing or catching coach to give him extra training in that department as well.

Bob "Bloodaxe" Steelhelm was a talented runner in his pick-up Blood Bowl league in the Steelhelm mining communities, but he was originally a soldier. Not surprisingly, when scouts from the Steelhelm clan elders came to ask him if he would play for the replacement team they were fielding, he quickly agreed to play for them, knowing his spot in the ranks of the infantry would be filled soon enough by one of the disgraced former members of the old Bashers team.

Bob will be cultivating his ball-handling skills, along with his blocking skills. He is supposed to have some skill at kicking as well, so he may develop his abilities further in that direction. Whether or not he gets additional coaching in passing remains to be seen.

Paul Steelhelm does not usually go by the nickname "Crazy Man", but he was told in no uncertain terms that his usual nom de plume was simply unsuitable for a family sport like Blood Bowl... yes, it's fun for the whole family, just like a public execution!

Anyway, Paul enjoys playing Blood Bowl for the New Bashers because it beats his usual job of going out and hunting trolls for sport - he doesn't have to spend days looking for them first when they're right there on the pitch!

Not one of the original members of the New Bashers, Alan "Carnage Galore" Steelhelm is something of a family embarrasment. He's actually a raving sociopath who delights in death and destruction - which makes him a perfect fit as a Troll Slayer on the Blood Bowl pitch, if something of an akward presence at clan gatherings.

Alan rarely has an intelligent thing to say at pre- or post-game interviews, mainly because of his complete inability to string words together into intelligible phrases. His coaches hope that he won't often be the star of the game, but will still do well enough for himself when he's on the pitch.
