Beloved Lucy passed away on April 26th, 1989 and couldn't wait to get on the Blood Bowl pitch. While playing in the Cuban premier league after urging by deceased hubby Desi Arnaz, she got the call up to the big leagues. A mummy to all clasic TV lovers, she delivers quite the wallop and does not go down easily.

Queen to all, one helluva a mummy for her team! Queen Elizabeth I died after miraculously leading her England subjects for almost 45 years. It was destined that she, daughter to the bloody Henry VIII and the cunning Anne Boleyn, would be a devastating force to other Blood Bowlers. She cut her teeth and others along the way in the European Premiership before joining the Celebrity Has Beens.

Referred to as the "Angel of Mercy" and "Saint of the Gutter" for her work in the poverty-stricken areas of India, this nun died just after her 87th birthday. Beatified by Pope John Paul II and honored many times over, she has now decided to spread her kindness to the hallowed grounds of Blood Bowl. Leaving behind her old ways of kindness, she pounds away at anything that comes her way.

Saddly, we don't have too much of a scouting report on Brunhilda. We do know she was the mother of kings and princes and consequently ruled for them as the regent of the Frankish Empire. Originally known for her liberalism, she soon became obsessed with her fame and fortune as Queen of Austrasia. Sure she rebuilt Roman roads, abbeys, established religion and education, but she was one power-hungry mama who loved the danger. That's why it was so easy for her to find her place fighting in the trenches of Blood Bowl. She hits hard and does all she can to rule the pitch for her team (and herself)!

Voletd the greatest linebacker of all time, Nitscke dominated the NFL for 15 seasons raising hell for the Green Bay Packers. Since deceased and not wanting to waste a moment of afterlife, Nitschke was recruited by the legendary Dwarf coach Vinz Longbarley. Ever since then he's been tackling ballcarriers like he had the legs of a rookie again.

Unitas has seen better days. "Mr. Clutch" starred in the greatest football game ever played, leading his Baltimore Colts to a Super Bowl V win. He was all-NFL for 8 seasons, MVP three times, and selected to the Pro Bowl 10 seasons. Since his death in 2002, Unitas has been tearing it up on the field. A prolific passer in his former days, he's still slinging it with his renowned confidence and skill. He is proud to join these other "has beens".

Having the distinction of playing American football for 26 years, Blanda was a true warrior. He was a quarterback who could also kick? Used also as a linebacker for the Chicago bears, Blanda noted that owner George Halas was too cheap to buy "me a kicking shoe." Blanda went on to lead the Houston Oilers and Oakland Raiders to title games, winning NFL MVP in 1970. Since his career ended, he has still been alive living on borrowed time. Blanda plays Blood Bowl now, barely alive. This helps him fit in with the rest of his team even though he still feels the lifeblood coursing through his veins.

Though still kicking, Cronkite was the face of evening news and the "most trusted man in America." He was known for his stright and narrow delivery and will remained the yardstick all journalists will be measured. Cronkite delivered the historic announcment of President Kennedy's death in 1963. Noticeably shaken, Cronkite put his glasses on a gave America the sad news. Outspoken and unshakeable he remains and is a stand-up addition to the Has Beens.

What didn't he produce? Spelling was the mastermind behind such shows as: Charlie's Angel's, Starsky & Hutch, The Love Boat, Beverly Hills 90210, Dynasty, and Twin Peaks. Recently passing away on June 23, 2006 from complications of a stroke. Spelling, always one to be in the know, had his eyes on producing another hit, this time on the Blood Bowl screen. He will undoubltedly have his hand in the operations and future successes of the Has Beens.

With the addition of Buck, "That's a winner!" or "Go crazy folks, go crazy!" (Ozzie Smith's 1985 NLCS homer) will now be heard after each Has Been win and "I don't believe what I just saw!" (Gibson's 1988 World Series walk-off homer) will be be the popular refain for every spectacular Has Been play. Jack Buck came to symbolize St. Louis Cardinals baseball with his gravely voice and sardonic irony. He was featured on Monday Night Football and did the calls for 11 World Series, 4 MLB All-Star Games, and 14 Super Bowls. He was also influential in bringing America back to normalcy after the Septemeber 11th attacks. He read his stirring poem titled "For America" before the game on Sept. 17, 2001 and answered the question whether baseball should've started soon after the tragedy, "I don't know about you, but as for me, the question has already been answered: Should we be here? Yes!" The Has Beens are proud to have Buck on the roster. His immense knowledge of sport will ceratinly come in handy and his flippant humor will too.

"You got the right one, baby!" crooned Charles in the famous Diet Pepsi ad. He overcame his blindness, turned music on its head, and was called the "only true genius in this business" by Frank Sinatra. His notable singles were Mess Around, Hit the Road Jack, America the Beautiful, What'd I Say, and I Got Woman. His most memorable hit, however, was "Georgia on My Mind". The official state song of Georgia since 1979, Charles performed it at the Opening Ceremonies of the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. After he died in 2004 due to liver disease and quickly turned his ears to the sound and fury of Blood Bowl. Besides being used in the game, Charles often fills in as the haltime performer.

The "Man in Black" is back and ready to do some damage on the field. A notoriuous drinker and drug user, Johnny Cash was a pioneer in rock and blues. Hits include Ring of Fire, I Walk the Line, A Boy Named Sue, Man in Black, and Folsom Prison Blues. He kicked his habit and even wrote a book called "Man in White" about Saul's conversion to becoming the Apostle Paul. Cash, ever the rebel, now looks to bring foes into his "ring of fire" and causing some "Hurt" on the field.
