Team Captain Blinky left the army to join the ranks of the Fighting Vermin. Unfortunately it was more hazardous work than fighting over warpstone in the army, and he was left with a serious injury. Not one to sweat too much, he sat out most of the following games. The coach Broot Ratone is adament he get back in the game and earn his pay.

9/13/06: Watched intently from the sidelines in the match against Rhorr's Rage. Coach Ratone considers early retirement for the otherwise able star.

10/16/06: Some redemption for Blinky's star power is redeemed when he proves the only rat capable of knocking the ball away from the Fighting Panda's thrower Jing Jing in the second half.

Dot was a leading prospect when recruited for the tournament, but thus far has sat out most of the games due to injury. While not entirely his fault, he will have to work hard to gain back much of the fame taken by the new favorite Gutter Runner, Troz. He also has a tendency to hop over his opponents, rather than dodge and run.

10/30/06: After the loss of Troz to retirement, Dot has anxiously been shooting for the prime Gutter Runner position. He dropped some of his armor to get a bit more speed out of his step, which coach thinks will not work in his favor.

Triz, the replacement for the famous Troz, was brought in just in time to play the Mage Priest Scrubber Squad. In the first game he was taken out early and missed the next game.

Foul Appearance
For whatever reason Shin Shin is always at the wrong end of a block that takes him out of the game. In fact he and the team apothecary are on a first name basis, and was saved from RIP twice. This does not daunt Shin Shin, who ironically shared the RIP in their first game against the Fighting Pandas when Tian Tian was RIP. Fortunately for the Fighting Vermin, Shin Shin survived to use the apothecary another day.

His dabblings in chaos have made him an ideal choice for line rat, since so few will actually try to knock him down. A recent injury in a game against the Kansas City Skinwalkers has made his job harder on him, but he has decided keep playing.

Season 2 has been Glon's place to shine. He was just another raw Gutter Runner recruit when the Fighting Vermin ended their first season in the league. After a few games, and some helpful advice from the coaching staff that all Gutter Runners practice with line and blocking drills first, he has done well for the team.

10/16/06: Game 2 of Season 2 was rough on Glon, and cost him notoriaty with the fans. He tripped twice at very critical game moments, and could not hold on to the ball at another. While the Fighting Vermin won, it was a near disaster adverted. It gave him some perspective, and like the rest of the Fighting Vermin, a healthy respect for Po, the Fighting Panda's catcher with "that crazy look in his eye".

Poor Venk never did know when to duck. Much to the dismay of the coach, he also doesn't know when to back down when faced by multiple opponents. Coach expects him to make a recovery and take his place on the LOS in no time.

9/8/06: Venk is back in action, and earned an MVP for their game against Crux of the Crow. No one knows why exactly. Blocks? Bribes? That After School special?

Zeenie the MVP? Some seem to think so, and after this noble title was award to this average, ordinary line rat after a game with the Hulgar's Hammerhands, the delusions of grandeur began. It seems the judges appreciate a player who continuously blocks opponents without any real skill or strength of his own yet, even if it means he ends up flattened.

Feeling a bit jealous after the arrival of Finyan, Zeenie set about working out day and night. He would disappear for days at a time, missing practice and being threatened with removal from the team. But his work paid off. He is now a lot stronger than the young rat he was when he started on the Fighting Vermin. Being very alike in personality with Screah, a newer, slighter more talented, but smaller line rat, has created a rivalry that no one has gone out of their way to discourage.

Finyan never knew playing on the pitch would be more fun than practice. He is actually allowed to hit other players on the pitch, and his first game, while a straggering loss against Bastet for the team, gave him two kills (one saved by a quick thinking apothecary). He chose to roar in vain some of the time, relishing in the thrill of the game. Already fans are turning out in drives to see the new Rat Ogre.

9/14/06: The new Block skill is put to good use as Finyan inflicts more damage on other team. And there was much fan cheering. 5 casualties inflicted in the first 3 games.

9/25/06:
Season 1 Distinction:

BEST BLOCKER

3) Finyan, Fighting Vermin (6 causalities inflicted)

9/27/06: Finyan adds two more casualties for a grand total of 8 at the start of Season 2.

10/16/06; Season 2 Restart Update: The Rat Ogre has met his match in the most unlikely of places. During a game to decide the "Fightingest" team in the league, again, Po the catcher for the Fighting Pandas charged Finyan in a fit of rage. No one is quite sure what happened next except that Finyan was out cold, and unable to play the rest of the game. In an effort to fan the fires of this new grudge, his fellow rats have used large cut outs of the famous Fighting Panda's catcher in practice to help motivate the enraged Rat Ogre.

10/28/06: An injury from the game against Rise of the Walking Dead has taken quite a bit from Finyan. He still charges with wild abandon though, at least for the moment.

This is the line rat with all the delusions of grandeur. He thinks he is the fastest, strongest, and most able line rat on the team. On more than one occassion he has snuck over to the Gutter Runner or Storm Vermin group in the hopes they would let him run a few plays. Of course, he is quickly ushered back to line practice. His spats with "the big" line rat Zeenie are the stuff of much fan and team gossip. Screah also tends to be a bit mouthy, which has given him a big bullseye when they play Crux of the Crow.

Everyone agrees he is a good line rat, but by no means the best on the team.

Yet.

After the demise of the Fighting Vermin's first kicker, Kreakie quickly rose to the challenge and learned all he could. He is no Tres Blind, not yet anyway.
