Sephiroth appears as a tall man with long silver hair, bright emerald-green cat-like eyes, a long black coat, white metallic pauldrons and belted black boots. He carries the sword Masamune, an extra long katana. Sephiroth was the most famous member of SOLDIER, a paramilitary branch of the Shin-Ra corporation, until he mysteriously disappeared five years prior to the beginning of the game. He then returns to enact a plot which threatens the world, bringing him into conflict with his opponents.

He is the cunning but brutal enforcer of the Galactic Empire's rule across the galaxy, and, on a more personal scale, the apparent murderer of Luke Skywalker's father, Anakin. A Dark Lord of the Sith, Vader serves at Emperor Palpatine's right hand, using the dark side of the Force to mercilessly pursue the Jedi and the Rebel Alliance to the ends of the galaxy.

A Jewish Holocaust survivor, it is his ambition to protect the mutant race from suffering a similar fate. Characterizations of Magneto have varied through the years, from supervillain to anti-hero to even hero, but he is most often shown as an uncompromising militant and has engaged in acts of terrorism when he felt it was for the benefit of mutantkind. This puts him at odds with his friend Charles Xavier, whose X-Men seek peaceful coexistence with the rest of humanity.

Poison Ivy deemed herself as one of "the world's most prominent eco-terrorists." She is obsessed with plants, botany and environmentalism. She utilizes toxins from plants and her own bloodstream for her criminal activities, which are usually aimed at protecting the natural environment. She has created love potions that have ensnared Batman, Superman and other strong-willed individuals. She is somewhat misanthropic and at times she has even mentioned that she would like a world solely ruled by plants. Fellow villain Harley Quinn is her recurring partner-in-crime and potentially only human friend.

When Dr. Evil was cryogenically frozen for the second time in 1997, his minions cloned him as a safeguard. The clone was identical in every way but "one-eighth his size." Upon being introduced to his clone, Dr. Evil immediately dubbed him "Mini-Me". Mini-Me has almost no dialogue. At one point, he asks Dr. Evil to hug him after meeting Fat Bastard, who wants to eat him. On most other occasions, Mini-Me prefers to express himself through written notes.
