He was trained at the Imperial Academy as a fighter pilot, but during one of his missions as a TIE Bomber pilot, he discovered the true nature of the Galactic Empire's ideals. He was ordered to bomb his home planet. He simulated a failure in his Bomber and aborted the mission. He managed to escape the Imperials and joined the Rebel Alliance. Jon got the nickname "Dutch" from his Rebel friends. He became Gold Leader and was assigned to a Y-Wing, flying several campaigns for the Alliance with Gold Squadron.

During the Battle of Yavin, he was one of the first groups who flew into the Death Star trench. Dutch appointed Tiree (Gold Two) as point, followed by Gold Leader and Gold Five, who formed a buffer for enemy fighters. Dutch was very fond of Tiree because he saw that he could become one of the greatest pilots, and so he decided that Tiree would take the first shot over the veteran "Pops." Gold Leader chose an extremely close formation for his pilots; this is typical for the much faster TIE Fighters, but Gold Five believed this to be a mistake. As Gold Two was locking his target computer, Darth Vader shot him down. This caused Gold Leader to panic, saying that they were too close and he couldn't maneuver. Gold 5 tried to keep Dutch calm, but the latter yelled at him to "loosen up." A second later, Vader fired into Dutch's Y-wing, killing him instantly.

He had the emblem of the Specter Squadron on his helmet at the Battle of Yavin.

Zev Senesca was a starfighter pilot with Rogue Squadron in the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and flew as Rogue Two during the Battle of Hoth.

Biography
Originally from Kestic Station in the Bestine system, Zev Senesca was born to parents sympathetic to the Rebellion. The Senescas often ran weapons for the Alliance, and Zev himself joined the resistance movement at a young age. Sadly for Zev, the Galactic Empire learned of his parents' activities, and the Imperial Star Destroyer Merciless destroyed Kestic Station with his parents onboard. Zev initially saw the Rebellion as the cause of his parents' deaths, and set out as an independent trader. During this time, Zev realized that he had been partly responsible for the deaths of his parents, after learning that the information leak had sprung from Zev's conversation about his parents' activities to a supposed friend. Zev came to realize the true extent of the Empire's evil, and these truths served to harden his revolve in the fight against Palpatine's regime.

Zev searches for Han Solo and Luke Skywalker on Hoth.Zev rejoined the Alliance soon after, and became known as a worthy starfighter pilot. During the evacuation of Alis Point base, Senesca single-handedly held off three TIE/ln starfighters, an action that helped earn the pilot a place in Commander Narra's Rogue Squadron. Following the Battle of Yavin, Senesca, alongside Wedge Antilles, helped defend grounded members of the squadron from TIE fighters on an uncharted world. Due in part to Senesca's actions, Luke Skywalker and Narra escaped the planet with their lives, and in the company of the clone trooper Able.

Senesca served at Echo Base on Hoth following the Battle of Yavin. After Skywalker and his friend, Han Solo, went missing in the icy wastes, Zev led the snowspeeder patrol sent out to locate them. He successfully found Skywalker and Solo stranded amid the snow after an overnight blizzard.

Later, Zev took part in the Battle of Hoth, flying a snowspeeder into combat against invading Imperial forces to cover the escape of Echo Base personnel. Zev was killed in action when his snowspeeder was destroyed by an AT-AT walker.

Behind the scenes
Zev Senesca was portrayed by Christopher Malcolm in The Empire Strikes Back.
The character should not be confused with Zev Veers, the son of Maximilian Veers who appeared in Dark Empire, set after Senesca's death.

Dauntless
Early Life (20 BBY–1 BBY)
Biggs was born on Tatooine to the local agricultural magnate Huff Darklighter. While young, the girl he developed a crush on was captured by sand people; by the time the rescue party arrived, she was dead, and all they could do was take revenge. He carried a hologram of her for the rest of his life.

Biggs was a close friend of Luke Skywalker. The two of them spent most of their youth together, racing through Beggar's Canyon in T-16 Skyhoppers and socializing with the other local teenagers at Tosche Station. The two friends planned to attend the Imperial Academy together, and go into business together by buying their own ship after their service in the Imperial Starfleet ended. This plan was not to be, as Luke's uncle, Owen Lars, kept him behind to help on his moisture farm while Biggs went off to the Prefsbelt IV Naval Academy the same time as another mutual friend, Janek Sunber.

[edit] Galactic Civil War
"I made some friends in the Academy. When our frigate leaves for one of the central systems we're gonna jump ship and join the Alliance."
―Biggs Darklighter talks to Luke Skywalker about his plan [src]

Biggs as an Imperial officer. While at the Prefsbelt IV Naval Academy, Biggs was taught by Soontir Fel along with Derek Klivian and Tycho Celchu. He gradually became disenchanted with the Empire. He began to meet secretly with men who shared their rebellious ideals.

After graduation, Darklighter and Klivian were assigned to the Rand Ecliptic. In his new post he sees that expediency is preferable to honesty, and that the deaths of innocents is an acceptable price to pay for covering one's mistakes. Shortly after, they made plans to jump ship in an outlying system and join the Alliance. During a brief furlough when Biggs returned to Tatooine, he revealed this plan to Luke. It is presumably around this time that he attended the debutante ball of Rivoche Tarkin, passing information from her to his Rebel contacts that served to avert a CompForce purge of the Duros Allied Army.

Darklighter and Klivian were members of different rebel cells on the Rand Ecliptic. They mistakely turned on each other and started a mutiny. Darklighter's group temporarily fled the ship in TIE fighters and Klivian's group combined with other rebels to take over the ship. Afterwards they would take Rand Ecliptic to the Massassi base on Yavin 4 and join the Rebellion.

[edit] Rebel

Darklighter and fellow defector Derek Klivian serving on the Rand EclipticAfter officially becoming part of the Rebel Alliance, Biggs participated in mission to steal X-wings from Incom. Later he went with a team to Commenor to escort a shipment of R2 astromechs carried by smuggler Captain Nera Dantels. Biggs became romantically involved with Dantels.

Shortly after the defeat of Operation Strike Fear, Rebel outpost AX-235 in the Cron Drift intercepted schematics for the the Death Star using stolen Imperial communications satellites. Due to the importance of the information, they decided to send it by courier. Darklighter was sent in an X-wing to retrieve the data. However, after leaving AX-235, the power generator on Darklighter's X-wing broke down and he came under attack by Imperial forces. The Mon Calamari Star Cruiser Independence sent three R-22 Spearheads to protect him until a rescue team of CR90 corvettes and shuttles could arrive and repair his ship. After escaping the attack he delivered the plans to the Independence and became friends with two of the pilots who had assisted in his rescue, Keyan Farlander and Samuel Raider.

Shortly thereafter, Luke would also join the Alliance after rescuing Princess Leia Organa. The two old friends had a brief reunion on Yavin 4 shortly before the attack on the Death Star. Biggs told Red Squadron's leader, Garven Dreis, that Luke was the "best bush pilot in the Outer Rim territories," convincing him that the untrained young pilot would easily be able to fly a starfighter in the upcoming battle. He assured Luke just before they parted for their starfighters that it would "be like old times". During the final attack run on the Death Star, Biggs and Wedge Antilles flew as Luke's wingmen. Biggs was killed when Darth Vader fired upon him while he was flanking Luke down the Death Star trench.

[edit] Legacy
He improvised a maneuver shortly after joining the Alliance. By spinning his starfighter while firing all four cannons, he was able to destroy multiple incoming targets.

Biggs Darklighter's legacy as a pilot would be picked up by his younger cousin, Gavin Darklighter. Wedge Antilles, the commander of Rogue Squadron remarked to Gavin that if Biggs were to have survived the Battle of Yavin, they'd all be reporting to him by now.

[edit] Behind the scenes
X-Wing: Rogue Squadron incorrectly states he was only six years older than his cousin, Gavin.

Biggs was played by Garrick Hagon and briefly appeared in the 1977 release of Star Wars, where he was only seen as Luke's wingman. The script included the scene at Tosche Station where Biggs tells Luke of his secret plans to join the Rebel Alliance, as well as the conversation where he meets Luke in the hangar on Yavin 4. These scenes were filmed, but were cut from the final version. These scenes did appear, however, in the novelization and the radio adaptation, where he was voiced by Kale Brown. Part of the Yavin 4 scene was reintroduced in the 1997 re-release of the film. Here are some details on Biggs's deleted scenes.

[edit] Deleted scenes
[edit] Biggs returns

Biggs and Luke meet up at Tosche Station in a deleted scene from A New Hope.Luke Skywalker, full of excitement at having seen some starships in the sky above Tatooine, races towards the Tosche Station (located in Anchorhead) to tell his friends about the battle he's just witnessed which we all know is the capture of the Tantive IV. In transit, Luke almost runs down an old woman with his landspeeder. She turns and yells at Luke to slow down. Luke hops out of his speeder and runs into the Tosche Station where he finds his friends Camie, Fixer, Deak and Windy relaxing and enjoying the day. Deak and Windy are in the back playing a table game of some sort, while Camie and Fixer nap at a desk - Camie in Fixer's arms. Luke scrambles in waking them up and then notices another guy in the room. It's Biggs Darklighter, who had left Tatooine the previous season to join the Imperial Academy. Luke is overwhelmed with joy to see his old friend again.

They start to talk a little but then Luke remembers the real reason he came by and urges everyone to come outside for a look. Deak and Windy, however, remain inside writing off the event as one of "Wormie's" delusions. When they get outside, Luke points to where the action was and Biggs takes a look using Luke's macrobinoculars. He does see two ships but no action, which he conveys to the group. After Camie verifies as much, the disappointed group retreats to the inside of the station without Luke, who remains outside looking (and feeling) embarrassed.

[edit] Old friends part ways once more

The friends say good bye again. The second deleted scene takes place a short time after the first one, after the scene where C-3PO starts waving and shouting at the Sandcrawler out in the Tatooine desert.

Luke and Biggs are walking outside in Anchorhead enjoying a beverage of some sort. As they are walking, they talk about old times and how quiet it's been without Biggs around. Biggs then decides to tell Luke about his plans to jump ship and join the Rebellion. Luke is very surprised.

The two then talk about Luke not getting his chance to leave for the Academy this season, Uncle Owen, the Sandpeople and the Empire. The two childhood friends share a bittersweet good-bye. Luke tells Biggs that he will always be the best friend he's ever had. Biggs turns and leaves. Luke remains for a few seconds then turns and leaves as well.

[edit] Biggs reprise

Garven Dreis talks to Luke and Biggs about Anakin Skywalker.Until the Special Editions were released, there was an additional scene with Biggs Darklighter that was cut from the Rebel Base scenes on Yavin IV just before the attack on the Death Star. For the Special Edition of A New Hope, most of this scene was restored. The scene involves Biggs, Luke, and Red Leader, Garven Dreis. There's only a small amount of dialogue that was kept out for reasons that can only speculated as having to do with the release of the Prequel Trilogy, since a small portion of the dialogue deals with Luke's father, Anakin Skywalker. Even if that were the reason, the dialogue does not actually reveal more than is already established in the trilogy.

In the script, Red Leader says, "Are you... Luke Skywalker? Have you been checked out on the Incom T-sixty-five?" to which Biggs replies, "Sir, Luke is the best bushpilot in the Outer Rim Territories." Then follows the line from Red Leader that was partially edited in the Special Edition, "I met your father once when I was just a boy. He was a great pilot. You'll do all right. If you've got half of your father's skill, you'll do better than all right." Luke and Biggs say a few more words to each other, head to their ships and move on to destroy the Death Star.

To cover up the dialogue edit, they used an editing technique called a "wipe" which is used quite often in the Star Wars films. Right when Red Leader is about to mention Luke's father, a Rebel Technician moves across the screen from left to right allowing the editors to remove the desired frames from the scene with little notice.

Derek "Hobbie" Klivian was a member of Rogue Squadron in the Rebel Alliance and New Republic.

A skilled pilot, Klivian had a reputation as a comedian, unlucky pilot and incredible survivor—so much so that several bacta and life-saving device corporations asked him to be their spokesman, including Bulior Repulsor Systems, an offer that he took. He was known to some of his squadronmates as "Bugbite", a name given to him by Iella Wessiri after their first meeting on Corellia where Klivian was stung by a local insect.

Early life (21 BBY/20 BBY–0 BBY)

Biggs Darklighter and Derek Klivian serving on the Rand Ecliptic.A Human from Ralltiir, Klivian studied at the Imperial Academy under Soontir Fel with Biggs Darklighter and Tycho Celchu. When he arrived at Carida, "Hobbie" was eager to become an Imperial fighter pilot and gain the status and celebrity that went with it. Soon, however, a group of friends, Biggs Darklighter among them, changed his opinions. He began to meet secretly with these men, who shared their rebellious ideals. Unfortunately, an informer among the group brought their meetings to an end. His friends were taken into custody during one of the group's meetings, a meeting from which Klivian and Darklighter were fortunately absent.

Hobbie lost Darklighter as a friend after the incident, but not his new ideals. After graduation, Klivian was assigned to the Rand Ecliptic under Darklighter. The two were members of different rebel cells aboard the ship. Klivian was able to lead the mutiny to success, taking over the ship, although he lost the majority of his left arm in the process.

Klivian lost his left arm during the mutiny of the Rand Ecliptic. The Rand Ecliptic continued on to Bestine, where Hobbie made contact with his old friend Lindy, who had Rebel contacts. From Lindy, he discovered that Captain Heliesk, who Hobbie had taken captive during the mutiny, was a Rebel agent known as "Starfire". With Heliesk's help, the Rand Ecliptic escaped Bestine.

After bringing Rand Ecliptic to the Massassi base on Yavin 4, Klivian and Darklighter formed Rogue Squadron and were given their first mission: to steal X-wings from an Imperial facility. Klivian's arm was replaced with a mechanical prosthetic. Darklighter and Klivian used hyperdrive-equipped TIE/ln starfighters to draw out an Imperial Security Bureau TIE squadron. The plan was to distract the Imperial squadron, eject and allow droid pilots to lead the fighters in a chase. After ejection, Klivian was clipped by a TIE fighter's wing and lost his right leg from the knee down. Despite his injuries, the Alliance team succeeded in acquiring the starfighters.

Galactic Civil War (0 BBY–19 ABY)

Derek Klivian lost his right leg during a TIE fighter ejection accident. When the time came for the strike against the first Death Star, Klivian was bed-ridden with a mysterious jungle infection that grew out of his wounded leg. Darklighter perished in the battle (being killed by Darth Vader), but a flower he discovered proved vital to Klivian's defeat of the virus. After his recovery, Klivian received a cybernetic leg replacement.

Klivian met with Wedge Antilles and Luke Skywalker at a ceremony honoring the pilots lost at the Battle of Yavin, where the pair explained their plans to reform Rogue Squadron. Luke also informed Hobbie of Darklighter's death during the fighting over the first Death Star. After a stint running guns in the Sullust system, Klivian was reassigned to Alliance Command and eagerly joined Rogue Group as Rogue Four. Hobbie aided them in their recruiting, and saved the ever-moving base group from numerous close calls. After the debacle at Derra IV, Klivian was left as one of the senior members of Rogue Squadron.

Derek "Hobbie" Klivian ready for battle.Assigned with his squadron to Echo Base, Klivian learned to pilot the T-47 airspeeder to avoid any further bacta baths. After the arrival of Death Squadron at Hoth, Klivian famously questioned the Alliance plan to escort each GR-75 Medium Transport with just two X-wings. During the Battle of Hoth, Klivian flew his speeder against the Imperial walkers as Luke's wingman. After receiving a glancing hit from General Maximilian Veers's AT-AT, Klivian lost control of his speeder and crashed into the AT-AT's head. Both Klivian and Veers survived the crash, but Klivian's reputation as an inevitable crash-pilot was set, along with his reliance on Bacta.

At the Battle of Endor, Klivian and Wes Janson, who had become fast friends, served to pull TIE fighters away from the Millennium Falcon and Antilles.

Klivian during Thrawn's campaign.Klivian continued to serve in Rogue Squadron in their campaigns at Bakura, Cilpar, Tatooine, Axxila, Brentaal, Eiattu, and Malrev before the squadron was disbanded. As a Lieutenant, he was restationed with Wes Janson to train new pilots when Rogue Squadron was reformed. His reputation as a minor Rebellion-era hero led New Republic leadership to temporarily promote him to captain, and tasked him to lead a morale-boosting public version of Rogue Squadron after its members resigned their commissions. He rejoined the unit as the executive officer after it reformed under the leadership of Tycho Celchu. At some point his call sign changed to Rogue Five. As with the rest of Rogue Squadron following the Thrawn Crisis, Hobbie was promoted again, this time to Major.

Post Galactic Civil War (19 ABY–)
After the peace accords between the New Republic and Imperial Remnant, Klivian retired from active duty. He was present at the wedding of Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade.

Behind the scenes
Derek Klivian was portrayed by Richard Oldfield in The Empire Strikes Back.
A spelling error in the X-wing: Rogue Squadron comic series led to Aaron Allston using the spelling of "Klivan" for Klivian's surname in X-wing: Wraith Squadron. According to Allston [1], Lucas Licensing cleared up the issue by standardizing the spelling as Klivian. There is a reference made to the confusion in X-wing: Starfighters of Adumar when Klivian informs the mission documentarian "I'll get back with you on my last name. Lots of people misspell it."
Klivian dies in the novel of The Empire Strikes Back, as does Maximilian Veers. However, this event is non-canon. It is referenced in canon, however, that he crashed and nearly died, but bacta saved him. The The Empire Strikes Back novelization also states he crashed it deliberately into the AT-AT; however, this is not confirmed onscreen.
Hobbie's movie helmet is interesting in that has been used in all three OT movies: its first appearance was with Jon Vander in A New Hope, then Hobbie in The Empire Strikes Back, and finally Grizz Frix in Return of the Jedi.

During the Clone Wars, he served in the Rarefied Air Cavalry where he fought alongside Anakin Skywalker during the Battle of Virujansi. He greatly admired Skywalker's piloting skills.

Decades later, Dreis joined the Rebel Alliance and was stationed on Yavin IV in command of Red Squadron. When the Empire's Death Star showed up in the Yavin system intent on crushing the Rebel headquarters, it fell to him to lead the daring Rebel counterattack against the massive terror weapon.

The avuncular Dreis and his "boys" in Red Squadron were to keep the battle station's TIE/ln starfighters and turbolaser turrets occupied while Gold Squadron completed the trench run. However, upon the arrival of Darth Vader and Black Squadron, Gold Squadron's Y-wings were destroyed, forcing Dreis to attempt the trench run with his own pilots.

As Dreis's fighter approached the exhaust port, Black Squadron swooped in for another pass. Dreis activated his targeting computer and readied his shot, even as Vader picked off his wingmen. However, this bought Dreis enough time to reach the exhaust port and triumphantly fire his proton torpedoes before pulling out of the trench.

However, victory soon turned to bitter disappointment, as it became clear that Dreis's torpedoes did not enter the exhaust port and merely detonated on the battle station's outer surface. Even worse, Vader had followed him out of the trench and was in hot pursuit.

With time running out, Dreis ordered Luke Skywalker to initiate a final run on the exhaust port, even going so far as to refuse his help against the Imperial fighters. As Luke positioned his flight for the attempt, Dreis was shot down by Darth Vader and crashed into the Death Star's surface. However, his death had not been in vain, as his leadership and sacrifice had given Luke the time he needed to complete his run and ultimately destroy the Death Star.

Ironically, none of the Rebels were aware that the man who had shot down Dreis, Darth Vader, was actually his old comrade Anakin Skywalker—Padmé Amidala's husband, and Luke's father.

Following the Battle of Yavin, Dreis's position as Red Leader would be filled by Commander Narra, who would himself be killed in the Battle of Derra IV.

Luke Skywalker would inherit the Squadron, renaming it Rogue Squadron, and led them until the Battle of Endor, where he was succeeded as Rogue Leader by Wedge Antilles, who renamed the squadron Red Squadron in honor of Dreis and the others who died in the attack on the first Death Star.

"The lieutenant and I once knew a very fine Human pilot who went by 'Piggy.' There's no 'derogatory component' to it in this squadron. Rather, it's a badge of honor I hope you can live up to."
―Wedge Antilles to Voort saBinring

Jek Tono Porkins, who flew as Red Six during the Battle of Yavin, was the first Rebel pilot to die in the battle. He got the nickname "Belly Runner" from both his skill at low-altitude strafing runs and his tubby gut

He, like so many others, gained experience flying in the cockpit of a T-16 skyhopper. He was a friend of Biggs Darklighter and was a member of the Y-wing Tierfon Yellow Aces Squadron with Wes Janson. When Janson was down with an seemingly ill-timed case of Hesken Fever, Jek took his place in Red Squadron and transferred to Yavin 4. Later, Jek went with a team to Commenor to escort a shipment of R2 astromechs carried by smuggler Captain Nera Dantels.

Jek flew Red Squadron during the Rebel's attack on the Death Star I. Though his X-wing fighter was maneuverable enough to avoid the Death Star's sluggish turbolasers, a mechanical malfunction hampered his ability to dodge enemy fire. Jek, perhaps due to his bulk, always set his acceleration compensator to full power, and unfortunately in this case it caused him to misjudge his altitude. He needed a short break to restabilize, and then he was shot to pieces by turbolaser turrets.

"Right now I feel like I could take on the whole Empire myself!"
"I know what you mean."
―Dak Ralter and Luke Skywalker [src]
Dak Ralter was a snowspeeder pilot and gunner in the Rebel Alliance.

Biography

Dak in the gunners station of a rebel snowspeeder during the Battle of Hoth.Born to prisoners of an Imperial labor colony on Kalist VI, Ralter had no concept of freedom until he met a Rebel pilot imprisoned in the colony. The pilot told Ralter of the world beyond Kalist VI, and together they plotted an escape out of the labor colony. Ralter managed to get away, but the Rebel pilot died during the effort.

To honor the man responsible for his freedom, Ralter joined the Rebel Alliance pilot corps. He underwent a rapid training program and was deployed at Echo Base with Rogue Squadron as Rogue Six. During the Battle of Hoth, Ralter served as Luke Skywalker's snowspeeder gunner. As Luke and Dak prepared to make the first attack run on an Imperial AT-AT using their snowspeeder's tow cable to trip it, a direct hit on the rear of the vehicle from one of the walkers likely killed Dak instantly, and any chance of his survival was thwarted when a walker trampled the downed speeder while it passed as Luke escaped the crashed speeder.

(Behind the Scenes):
Dak Ralter was portrayed by John Morton in The Empire Strikes Back.
Throughout most of the history of Star Wars, Ralter's first name was spelled "Dack." However, this changed with the release of the DVDs, whose subtitles revealed his name should actually be spelled "Dak." Lucasfilm employee Leland Chee has indicated here that future publications will reflect this decision.

Tiree was a starfighter pilot in the Rebel Alliance. He flew in Gold Squadron as Gold 2 and Jon Vander's wingman in the Battle of Yavin.

Vander was fond of the youth, believing he would become one of the greatest pilots in the Rebellion, and thus placed Tiree on point over the veteran 'Pops'. During one of the Rebels' trench runs on the Death Star, Tiree's Y-wing was shot down by Darth Vader, and Tiree was killed.

Garven Dreis apparently wanted him in Red Squadron due to his navigation skills.

"I am Wedge Antilles. I survived the Battle of Yavin. I survived the Battle of Hoth. Hell… Just a couple of weeks ago I blew up the Death Star during the Battle of Endor. ―Wedge Antilles [src]
Wedge Antilles was a legendary Corellian X-wing pilot, intelligence operative, and general who fought for the Rebel Alliance and New Republic from the earliest days of the Galactic Civil War through the Yuuzhan Vong War and beyond.

While Luke Skywalker was the last hope for the Jedi and Han Solo a natural leader, Wedge went down in galactic history as a man of the people, a "working-class hero."

Antilles served in Starfighter Command for three decades, repeatedly defying terrifying odds, and was among the very few to survive the battles of Yavin, Hoth, and Endor. He was also the only pilot to have faced both Death Stars and survived.

Arvel Crynyd was the leader of the A-wing-filled Green Group during the Battle of Endor.

Crynyd led his squadron into the fleet of Star Destroyers over Endor to disable the ion cannons to allow the Alliance Fleet through. At the climax of the battle, he was a leading part in the strafing run of key locations on the Star Dreadnought Executor when anti-fighter fire struck his A-wing, sending it careening out of control. By circumstance or by the will of the Force, his fighter plowed into the un-shielded bridge of Executor, killing himself as well as Admiral Piett and his bridge crew instantly. With control lost, and in the middle of a battle maneuver, the mighty warship crashed into the second Death Star, thus turning the tide of the battle.

His name was later applied to a New Republic Medal of Bravery, which was one of the New Republic's most prestigious honors. An Imperial-class Star Destroyer captured at the planet Milagro was also renamed Crynyd in his memory.

[edit]Arvel Crynyd was played by Hilton McRae in an uncredited performance in Return of the Jedi.
Crynyd was incorrectly referred to as "Rogue Leader" in Star Wars: Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike, specifically the mission to bring down Executor, because the game reused soundclips of other wingmen in the game.
