Marjory the Trash Heap is a large, matronly, sentient compost heap from Fraggle Rock. According to her rat-like companions Philo and Gunge, who serve as her shills, the Trash Heap knows all and sees all. In fact Marjory is all: "I'm orange peel, I'm coffee grounds, I'm wisdom!" She serves as an oracle to the Fraggles, dispensing advice and wise sayings, and the Fraggles stand in awe and reverence of her. However, the trash heap lives outside the caves of Fraggle Rock, residing in a corner of The Gorgs' Garden. This makes any journey to seek her wisdom perilous, as the Fraggles must sneak past Junior Gorg.
Marjory's prononuncements "sound a little like Dear Abby on a bad day," according to the presentation booklet used to pitch the series. Her advice usually proves beneficial, though her audience occasionally mistakes practical suggestions for magic spells. She does occasionally supply the Fraggles with "magic" objects such as a lucky blanket or Love Potion No. 9. Though Marjory enjoys her work, she frequently attempts to offer not just temporary solutions but to encourage the Fraggles and the other species to come together in harmony, and to become more self-reliant. Some attempts, such as in "The Great Radish Famine," are less successful than others. While Philo and Gunge refer to her as "Marjory," the Fraggles address her with the more formal title "Madame Trash Heap," "Madame Heap", or occasionally simply "Trash Heap." Marjory in turn refers to Philo and Gunge as "my boys."
Marjory occasionally uses a lorgnette when peering at her visitors, and often settles down into her trash pit when sleeping or depressed. She speaks in an erratic Eastern European accent, sometimes with a hint of German and often heavy in Yiddish inflections. John O'Connor of the New York Times described her as sounding "like somebody's idea of revenge on a Jewish mother-in-law." Like many of the other Fraggle Rock characters, Marjory is also musical, often belting out her advice in the form of a rousing song, with Philo and Gunge on backup, and accompanying herself with a tambourine.
In the episode "Home Is Where the Trash Is," it is revealed that the Trash Heap was not a living, sentient being until Philo and Gunge found her, at which point she sprang to life. In the same episode, Philo and Gunge decide to leave Marjory, and she falls gravely ill until they return.
Marjory has mentioned relatives on rare occasions, though particulars of how trash heap families work are never explored. Marjory references her mother in the lyrics to "Pain, Trouble, and Woe" from "Beginnings." In "I Don't Care," Marjory reminisces about Uncle Maximillian, life of the party.
Marjory figured most prominently during the first season, appearing every other episode or so. In "The Trash Heap Doesn't Live Here Anymore," Marjory is relocated. Her appearances become more sporadic from then on, but she plays a key role in the final episodes.

Rocket Sprocket is a robot dog invented by Doc in Episode 115: I Don't Care of Fraggle Rock. Doc controls Rocket Sprocket by radio remote control, and uses him to fetch his newspaper, so as to save the real Sprocket the trouble. The machine does move extremely quickly, but initially mangles the paper and later works the crossword puzzle, in ink.

Sprocket is a very intelligent dog owned by Doc on Fraggle Rock. He spends much of his time in Doc's Workshop, where his bed and food dish are, observing Doc at work. As a result, he often catches Gobo in the act of retrieving a discarded postcard from Uncle Traveling Matt. Sprocket proves the adage that dog is a man's best friend. Though Sprocket is occasionally perplexed by Doc's eccentric behavior and odd inventions, the two are inseparable. Sprocket accompanied Doc when he rented Ma Bear's cottage in A Muppet Family Christmas.
Though generally unable to speak words, Sprocket communicates with his owner through a series of lively barks, facial expressions, and particularly pantomime, pointing to objects or using a form of charades. Doc often relies on Sprocket in performing household labor, including repairs on the water pipes.
Sprocket is initially less enamoured of Doc's neighbor Ned Shimmelfinny, but gradually warms up to him. The same can't be said of his relationship with Ned's cat, Fluffinella. Though Sprocket teases Doc about Ms. Ardath, the dog himself, who always had a thing for airedales, is not immune to romance, once falling in love with Ms. Ardath's dog Marigold.
Like most dogs, Sprocket is suspicious of Gobo, the strange creature who scampers in and art, barking fiercely at him. In other episodes, he attempts to board up or break into the hole in the wall. Sprocket frequently tries to make Doc aware of the Fraggles, but his efforts are generally for naught. As the series progresses, however, after receiving Gobo's aide in a tight spot, Sprocket befriends the Fraggles, and redoubles his efforts to tell Doc.
Outside of Fraggle Rock, Sprocket made a cameo appearance in the very beginning and the final crowd scenes of The Muppet Christmas Carol, dressed in a suit. He also appears briefly in Muppet Treasure Island in the early pub scenes.

Uncle Traveling Matt is a brave Fraggle explorer and Gobo's uncle on Fraggle Rock. In "Beginnings," he ventured out of the Rock to explore the human world of Outer Space.

To document his exploits, Matt sends Gobo a series of postcards recounting his experiences with the Silly Creatures and their culture from his Fraggley point of view. Uncle Matt prides himself on his bravery and resourcefulness, but also tends towards clumsiness, frequently falling backwards or tripping during his travels.

He makes a brief return visit back to Fraggle Rock in the second season episode "Uncle Matt Comes Home," but in the fourth season episode "Uncle Matt's Discovery," he returns to the Rock for good. Although he still makes a few occasional trips to Outer Space, he mostly recounts his travels to the other Fraggles orally, as flashbacks are shown.

As a boy, Matt discovered the Gorgs' Garden and, with it, a new source of food (radishes) during a mushroom blight. He was raised by his Uncle Gobo, also a great Fraggle explorer.

Traveling Matt is the only Fraggle, and one of the few Fraggle Rock characters in general, to make solo cameo appearances in other Muppet productions, without other Fraggles. He appeared at Kermit and Miss Piggy's wedding in The Muppets Take Manhattan, and promoted the film on German television in 1985. That same year, he was the only Fraggle Rock character present when the Muppets appeared on Night of 100 Stars. In 1986, he received company in the form of Sprocket when introducing scenes in The Muppets: A Celebration of 30 Years. Reuniting with his fellow Fraggles, he participated in mass appearances in the 1987 Television Academy Hall of Fame induction of Jim Henson, and in A Muppet Family Christmas. Matt also graced CBS interstitial segments for the animated version of Fraggle Rock.

A travelling matte is a technique used in television and film to insert a foreground object into a prerecorded background image. This technique was often used in Fraggle Rock, especially when the Fraggles are walking through the many underground caves.

Felix the Fearless is a fraggle who serves as head of the Fraggle Rescue Squad on Fraggle Rock. He possesses a high-pitched voice which contrasts with his name and reputation (as well as his oversized outfit), and values bureaucracy over practical methods. He appeared in Episode 117: Marooned and Episode 402: Wembley's Wonderful Whoopie Water.

The Wizard is a supposed master of prestidigitation who visits Fraggle Rock occasionally to show off his magic tricks, which include the "Blooming Flower" trick and the "Double Twisted Over Back Flip While Escaping from Ropes and Waiting to Be Eaten While You're All Tied Up" trick. He is also fond of using smoke pellets to create the illusion of magic happening when he really hasn't done anything.

The Wizard's incantation while performing magic is "Horse enchiladas, ho-ho!" He has a dutiful flunky named 7-Words-Max.

Without his glasses and false beard, the Wizard closely resembles Wembley Fraggle. In the second season episode "The Wizard of Fraggle Rock," he fools Wembley into switching places with him. Wembley wants the other Fraggles to give him attention and praise; the Wizard hopes to escape from the Poison Cackler that is pursuing him.
