Phi-bi was born to a rich upper-middle class family in East London. He was pampered for much of his early life, but as he started school, he was targetted by some of the bigger pandas for having such a sissy name. In an effort to become cooler and make more friends, Phi-bi soon started to rebel against his upbringing, creating havoc and pandamonium wherever he set paw. This came to a climax in the mid-90's, when he was finally expelled from the boarding school where he had spent the last 5 years burning books in the library, wrestling other pupils, stealing bamboo form the kitchen, and even pandalising the school's desks.
After leaving school, Phi-bi was exiled by his family, having to scavange his food daily, sometimes resorting to performing at circus's where his passion for pandamonium attracted large crowds. Whilst performing one night, Phi-bi was spotted by a talent scout who was looking to complete his bloodbowl team by recruiting some muscle power so as not to be out done by the larger and bashier races.

Ploddy was picked up as an orphan by the Pandama Police Department. At first, he was put to use in the station, doing odd jobs and clerical duties for the policemen, who repaid his hard work by feeding him with bamboo and providing a home for him, even letting him go on trips to the fire station before in a unfortunate accident, Ploddy mistook the fireman's pole for a bamboo stick.

She She Eep had a troubled childhood, having been picked up by a Bradfordian named Russo when he was just 3 years old. This Bradfordian, Russo, was practicing his secret hobby, pandaphilia, after having been accused of being overly fond of sheep. This traumatic experience lead to She She Eep's mental breakdown, during which he earnt his name, from the muddled sounds that he uttered during his sleep, presumably as an after effect of his intimate encounter with Russo.
