Ingmar Bergman...considered one of the greatest and most influential directors of modern cinema. One of the most revered directors of the 20th century.

He explore human conditions, and his films are often bleak and depressive and deals with illness, insanity and existential questions of faith and morality.

I haven't seen many of his 62 feature films, but this is a list of what I think is his most notable films:

Sawdust and Tinsel (1953)
Smiles of a Summer Night (1955)
Wild Strawberries (1957)
The Seventh Seal (1957)
The Virgin Spring (1959)
Through a Glass Darkly (1961)
Winter Light (1962)
The Silence (1963)
Scenes from a Marriage (1973)
Fanny and Alexander (1982)
Saraband (2003)
With only 3 films(and 2 never-realised student films), he might not have earned his way among the other directors on the team(the same goes for Jeunet and Solondz), but his three films are very exceptionel. Visual, story and acting is superb. Their nothing you have seen before and deeply moving.

Notable films:
π (1998)
Requiem for a Dream (2000)
The Fountain (2006)
Jean-Pierre Jeunet do not have a big filmography in fact only 5 films and a new one will premiere in 2009.

But his very distinct style with big emphasis on colour and fantasy or fantasy-like setting makes his films a visual pleasure, and combined with excellent stories, it gives a unique experience.

Notable films(their english titles):
Delicatessen (1991)
The City of Lost Children (1995)
Amélie (2001)
A Very Long Engagement (2004)
He has only directed 5 films(his 6th will premier 2008), but he is one of my favourite directors.

His film are highly controversial, because he uses teenage sexuality(not in a graphic way) as a major part of his films. He also uses paedophilia and rape as themes, still not in a graphic way though. The films a dark comedies and though-provoking, and perhaps not for everyone.

The master of cult-films, and postmodern cinema. And of course the creator of the all-time greatest Twin Peaks.

He uses surreal, dreamish and otherworldly music(often composed by Angelo Badalamenti) to create the atmosphere. In many of his films he doesn't use a classic narrrative style, but intertwine story lines and messes with time and space. Not all of his films is like that, though.
