Thom Van Kirk was the second son of a wealthy brewmaster; a position that provided him little access to the family fortune. Thom hated his status and secretly coveted more power. Unfortunately for Thom, his desire for power did not go unnoticed. Especially by the king of lies, Slaanesh.
Late one night, Thom begin to hear strange voices. They told him of enemies. "Poison the ale, Thom, poison the ale," they whispered. And so he did. As a result, hundreds died and the land was stricken with fear.
It took several years for the authorities to peice it all together. By the time empire detectives arrived at the Van Kirk estate, the house was gone. It appeared to have been ripped from the earth by a giant hand. "Chaos..." the lead detective grumbled. The case was put away cold.
Decades later, the Van Kirk estate reappered. Floating on a strange peice of black rock, the house drifted from village to village. Occassionally, the floating mansion stopped above a village. Instead of an invading force, however, a squad of blood bowl players decended from the darkness.
Thom now refers to himself as "Baron" Thom Van Kirk, a sign perhaps that he has slipped into madness or that he continues to receive misinformation from Slaanesh. Though most chaos seek only battle, Thom seems consumed by another type of warfare: blood bowl.
"We have been sent for the cup," Thom states, if anyone is brave enough to ask. Most assume he means the Chaos Cup as it is widely believed that Slaanesh desires it for himself. But noone has had the courage yet to ask.
Baron facts:
In his first match, Thom tossed an opposing player off the pitch and into a strange dark portal. The player was never seen again. Score keepers have decided to count this as a casualty.
Ule comes from a clan--the Knothorns--known for having long curved horns and a cruel disposition. As a calf, Ule trained to throw spears in Slaanesh's infamous Army of Terror. But that invasion plan went astray when Khorne and Slaanesh couldn't agree on a time or a place to unleash chaos.
With no invasion pending, Ule sought employment elsewhere. It wasn't long before his throwing talent landed him a spot on a blood bowl squad.
Slaanesh had this to say of Ule: "He was the one sent before the one, the taker of kindness and the bringer of anguish."
Ule facts:
Ule has a terrible gambling problem. In fact, he was banned from blood bowl for two years after the terrible Night Soks incident where he, and ten others, allegedly bet against themselves and then threw the game. However, many chaos fans refuse to believe Ule had anything to do with the scandal: "He completed three passes, rushed for 23, and knocked out a dwarf. There is no evidence that he threw the game."
Ule has completed more passes than any other player on Wicked Rock.
