The two treemen Treevor and Barkley joined The Merry Fatfellows entirely by chance. Treevor and Barkley were hired as freebooters by a different halfling team, but arrived several years too late for the match. Luckily for The Merry Fatfellows the day Treevor and Barkley finally showed up at the stadium was the very same day that The Merry Fatfellows were playing their first game, and so the treemen joined The Merry Fatfellows instead. Though they were only supposed to play for one game, Treevor and Barkley felt sorry for how The Merry Fatfellows were swindled into playing for the apothecary and so they decided to help the halflings out untill the contract was to expire.

Back in the good old days when The Merry Fatfellows played Blood Bowl for fun and exercise with each other, Jonathan was the local star of the game, the greatest catcher in the village. Unfortunately for Jonathan the role as a catcher turned out dramatically more dangerous when The Merry Fatfellows started playing leauge games and Jonathan has caught more broken noses than passes.

Claude Sweetbutter Jr. reluctancly took on the jeresy of his <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&op=view&player_id=5194073">father</a> in order to meet the requirements of the contract owned by The Merry Fatfellows coach and apothecary. Claude had no desire to join The Merry Fatfellows and simply hopes to be able to return to his family when the contract expires.

Jonas' monicker "The Gutter" is, as the monickers of all the other players of The Merry Fatfellows, completely undeserved. It is the coach and apothecary of The Merry Fatfellows that have assigned the players their various monickers in order to lure in bigger audiences and profits.

Jonas' monicker is however slightly more deserving that that of most of the Merry Fatfellows, as he actually has hurt an opposing player once. It should be noted that Jonas acted in self-defence and genuinely apologized to the embarrased player in question.

<p align="left">Willie feels responsible for the injuries and casualties of The Merry Fatfellows, as it was due to Willie being swindled into signing a contract that The Fatfellows are legally bound to keep on playing in the Acadamy Leauge.

Willie has seen too many of his friends get injured or killed and has trouble not blaming himself for The Merry Fatfellows' current situation and has taken up drinking. Willie subjects himself to reckless plays with no regards to his own safety in order to draw the opponents attention away from his teammates. Willie is often the ball carrier, and spends a significant part of any given game flying through the air, clinging onto the ball.</p>

Midge has secretly been carrying a crush for <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=5196631">Willie Meadowpuff</a> for the longest time and signed up for the cooking club The Fatfellows, the health and fitness club Merry and In Shape, and later The Merry Fatfellows in order to be around Willie.

Midge can't bear to see Willie in his current state and tries to keep him from dangerous situations by scooping up the ball before Willie can get to it.
