The INA trials or the Red Fort Trials refer to the courts martial of a number of officers of the Indian National Army between November 1945 and May 1946 variously for treason, torture, murder and abettment to murder. The first, and most famous, of the approximately ten trials was held in the Red Fort in Delhi, hence deriving the name. In total, approximately ten courts-martial were held. The first of these, and the most celebrated one, was the joint court-martial of Colonel Prem Sahgal, Colonel Gurubaksh Singh Dhillon and Major General Shah Nawaz Khan. The three had been officers in the British Indian Army and taken PoW in Malaya or Singapore. They had, like a large number of other troops and officers of the British Indian Army, joined the Indian National Army and later fought in Imphal and Burma alongside the Japanese forces in alleigance to Azad Hind. These three came to be the only defendants in the INA trials who were charged of "Waging War against the King Emperor" (The Indian Army act of 1911 did not have a separate charge for treason) as well as Murder and abettment of Murder. Those charged later only faced trial for torture and murder or abettment of murder. The trials covered arguments based on Military Law, Constitutional Law, International Law, and Politics. These trials attracted much publicity, and public sympathy for the defendants who were perceived as patriots in India, and outcry over the grounds of the trial, as well as general emerging unease and unrest within the troops of the Raj ultimately forced the then Army Chief Claude Auchinleck to commute the sentences of the three defendants in the first trial.

Albertino Essers (born May 30, 1969 in Oosterbeek) is a darts player from The Netherlands, who is nicknamed The Sensation. He competes for the British Darts Organisation. In the 2007 Lakeside World Professional Darts Championship, he defeated the number 2 seed Scotland's Gary Anderson in the first round, but lost to Scotsman Paul Hanvidge in the second round. Hanvidge beat Essers in the second round in 2006, after Essers had defeated Ted Hankey 3-1 in the first round. At one point Essers suffered from Dartitis, an inability to release the dart while throwing. This was evident in his match against Australian Steve Duke in the first round of the 2004 World Championship. His nerves are still a problem at times, but his recovery and improvement have impressed many players on the tour.

The New Canada Party was a short-lived Canadian political party that nominated one candidate, party founder and leader, Fred Reiner, in the 1968 election. Reiner ran in Toronto—Rosedale riding under the slogan, "Canada for Canadians", and received 148 votes, or 0.4% of the total.

Reiner, a construction superintendent born in Bavaria, Germany, claimed to have organized the party in 1963.

Note: The parliamentary website noted below incorrectly indicates that the New Canada Party nominated three candidates in the 1965 federal election. The Globe and Mail and Toronto Star newspapers of 1965 indicate that these candidates were, in fact, running for the New Capitalist Party, which appears to have had no connection with the New Canada Party.
