Joseph Anthony Fatone Jr. was born on 28th January 1977 in Brooklyn, New York. Joey is a natural entertainer. Even as a small boy he had the special talent of always looking on the bright side. His love of music probably comes from his father, Joe Snr., who sang in a local doo-wop group, the Orions. Along with the rest of his family (mother, Phyllis, sister, Janine and brother, Steven) Joey regularly attended church and became involved in the acting guilds attached. By the age of seven he made his first appearance in a film - as an extra in 'Once Upon A Time In America', the gangster film starring Robert DeNiro, which was shot in the Brooklyn.

In his time at high school, because it was already clear to Joey that he wanted to pursue a career in show business, he opted for acting and music classes as his main subjects. When Joey was thirteen, the Fatone family moved to Orlando and he became involved in every theater opportunity the school had to offer - Shakespeare, musicals, one-act plays. In 1995 Joey got his high school diploma and had the agonizing decision of whether to go on to college or devote all his energies to performing.

Of course, he made the right decision. At the age of seventeen Joey was discovered at an audition for the Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue at Universal Studios. Here he was able to not only demonstrate his acting and musical abilities but also to let his sense of humor run riot. His favorite role in this show was playing the teeth-baring werewolf, which was meant to scare the audience. And who should he meet at Universal Studios? Why, Chris Kirkpatrick, of course. They soon became firm friends and later, as we all know, formed *NSYNC.

In comparison to his band colleagues, this high-spirited young man with the charming smile is not a sports aficionado. He loves cooking! Pasta is his favorite but his real passion lies elsewhere. Joey is a devoted and passionate Superman fan (among his prized possessions are a Superman necklace and a 1966 vinyl album). This obsession began at an early age and led to a number frightening moments for his poor mother.

"He used to try to fly through windows," she says, "He had stitches from head to toe and now has scars all over."

One of his proudest moments was when Christopher Reeve, the actor who played Superman in the films, came to an *NSYNC show and Joey was able to get an autograph signed 'To one fan from another'.

The *NSYNC 'Superman' is a complete optimist! With his sunny, uncomplicated manner Joey is a real positive element in *NSYNC. With a good understanding of the seriousness of life, when Joey is asked what he would wish for if he was given three wishes his answer is, of course: "more wishes!". His role-model status is something he does not take lightly, however.

"We feel it's an honor and responsibility having influence on young people. People need to understand that everyone's human and makes mistakes. We're ready to accept that. All of us keep each other on the ground, and if I had a chip on my shoulder or a big head about this, my mom would kick my butt."

On stage Joey is the *NSYNC member who most willingly and actively seeks interaction with the girls in the audience. His infectious smile and fantastic charm really do make the girl's hearts beat faster. It is also amusing to notice that Joey is so busy flirting sometimes that he has to really step on it to keep up with the others. Maybe he seems confident now but at the time of his first kiss the situation was very different.

"My first kiss happened when I was pushed into a closet with a girl, like in the old movies. We didn't know how to kiss. It was the funniest thing - we just moved our mouths. I remember I was sweating like crazy, because I was so nervous. When we first got pushed into the closet, we were like, 'Hey, get us out!' but then we started kissing and the door opened and I was like, 'No, close the door'. I wanted to stay in there."

"The best thing about being in *NSYNC," he says, "is getting to travel and perform in front of thousands of people. It's a great feeling to touch so many lives out there. South Africa was a great trip. So was Asia and all around the US. Every place has a different thing that I remember. In Germany, the architecture was great. A lot of places in New York have good memories, so do Texas, Chicago. Everywhere. It's a lot of hard work. Not only do we dance, but we sing on top of it, so it's an aerobic exercise. It takes a lot of practice to take big gasps of air. The worst thing about all the work I would say is not enough sleep, and you don't see enough of the cities you're in. But the best thing is we get to meet a lot of our fans and perform in front of thousands and thousands of people."

Rumors suggest Joey will star with Lance in a romantic comedy 'On the Line' due to start shooting soon in Toronto. The two will play best friends with Joey's character helps Lance's character find the girl he believes is his soulmate.

With his hit single "Ice Ice Baby" and its accompanying album, To the Extreme, Vanilla Ice became the second white rapper to top the charts. Unlike the Beastie Boys, he didn't have any street credibility, so the Miami-born rapper decided to invent some of his own, claiming he had a seriously violent gangster past. Nevertheless, "Ice Ice Baby" became a number one hit late in 1990, thanks to the pulsating bass riff from David Bowieand Queen's "Under Pressure." To the Extremealso went to the top of the charts, spending 16 weeks at number one and selling over seven million copies. Ice began filming a feature film, Cool As Ice, in the spring of 1990, but by the time the film came out in the fall, his star had fallen dramatically; To the Extremewas at number one longer than the soundtrack to Cool as Icewas on the charts.

Sensing that his time had passed, Vanilla Ice took a couple years off, re-emerging in 1994 with Mind Blowin'. Dispensing with the pop-rap formula of his debut, the rapper adopted the lazy, rolling funk of Cypress Hill, as well as that trio's obsession with pot. The album was a commercial disaster, disappearing from sight immediately after its release. With 1998's Hard to Swallow, Ice attempted to reinvent himself as a hardcore, gangsta-styled rapper; again the public wanted no part of it. A similar attempt, 2001's Bipolar, tried to reinvent him as both rapper and rocker, much to the public's general disinterest.

Christopher Alan Kirkpatrick was born on 17th October 1971 in Clarion, Pennsylvania and it seems every member of Chris's family is musical (he can count jazzy-singing aunts and country and western-singing grandfathers amongst his relatives) so it was pretty much inevitable that he would enter show business. His mother (herself a voice teacher) claims he could sing before he could even talk. A natural performer as a child he was soon entertaining any time he got the opportunity.

Chris's father died suddenly when Chris was a child and his mother Beverly eventually remarried and had four other children - Molly, Kate, Emily and Taylor - Chris's half-sisters and half-brother. He grew up with this large family in Dayton, Ohio.

While at school Chris really concentrated on music, taking roles in musicals like 'Oliver' and 'South Pacific' and learning a wide range of musical instruments including trombone, keyboard and guitar. After finishing high school this brown-haired young man earned an associate of arts degree from Valencia College in Dayton, Ohio then moved to Rollins College in Ohio in order to get first class training as a dancer and singer at this well-known college. To keep his head financially above water Chris had to take casual work (including singing in various groups including a Caroling Company) until he eventually ended up at Universal Studios as a doo-wop singer where he was to meet Joey Fatone and later Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez who were working together on the Mickey Mouse Club. The pressures of starting *NSYNC and completing his college education proved too much and Chris dropped out of college to give *NSYNC (now with Lance Bass onboard) his 100% attention.

Despite the enormous success Chris has enjoyed with *NSYNC he remains down-to-earth. Thanks in part to the other guys in the band and to grounding effect of his family. "I also believe in karma," he says, "That's why we treat everyone with respect, because the people you meet are the same people you meet on the way down. We treat everyone equally."

Chris is a very spontaneous person and looks for honesty and loyalty in potential girlfriends. Beauty is only skin-deep and he knows that personality is far more important than good looks. Chris is also a deeply moral person and believes in giving as much back as possible - which means with *NSYNC'S enormous success he is keen to do as much charity work as possible. Chris is also spokesperson for Child Watch of North America (www.childwatch.org ), a role he hopes will "raise awareness among children and teens of how to avoid the risks of abduction." He loves the job he has with *NSYNC and can't really believe his luck that he gets to travel the world with a group of friends doing the one thing he really loves - being a performer.

Chris is a huge fan of Bruce Lee, the actor famous for his karate films. Posters of his idol decorate his room and, of course, like the other guys he is an enthusiastic sports fan. His favorite sport is hockey but like every other American boy he also loves to play basketball.

His success and fame with *NSYNC has also given Chris the chance to start his own clothing, visual art and music production firm - FuMan Skeeto(www.fumanskeeto.com). "We were in a hotel room and there was this mosquito on the floor who looked like he had a Fu Manchu moustache," he explains, "We all started laughing and joking, and before you knew it, we were calling him Fumansquito. Then, when it came time for me to name my company, I remembered our name for the mosquito. We're not going to be a clothing line that comes and tells people what to wear. This is more people telling US what they like and what they wish they could have. I'm very hands-on. I don't actually sit down and draw things up, but I know what I like. I know what's comfortable for me, and a lot of stuff I do is for *NSYNC fans also."

Chris is possibly the most sensitive of the five boys. When he's not acting the fool, his expressive brown eyes often look sad. Thanks to his individuality even far away from the stage he is relatively easy to make out. You only have to look for the group member who looks somehow different from the others. For Chris *NSYNC and their music is all about fun and although he hopes the success will continue for a long time he takes each day as it comes, setting goals for himself and keeping optimistic.

The Pet Shop Boys-- vocalist Neil Tennant and keyboardist Chris Lowe-- navigated the constantly shifting landscape of modern dance-pop with rare grace and intelligence, moving easily from disco to house to techno with their own distinctive image remaining completely intact. Satiric and irreverent -- yet somehow strangely affecting -- the British duo transcended the seeming disposability of their craft, offering wry and thoughtful cultural commentary communicated by the Morse code of au courantsynth washes and drum-machine rhythms. Tennant was born July 10, 1954, in North Shields, England, as a teen pursuing an interest in theater before fronting the little-known band Dust. He later served as an editor at Marvel Comics before earning notoriety as a journalist for Smash Hits magazine. Tennant co-founded Pet Shop Boysin London in August 1981 after first meeting Loweat an electronics shop; discovering a shared passion for dance music and synthesizers, they immediately decided to start a band. The duo's career first took flight in 1983 when Tennant met producer Bobby "O" Orlandowhile on a writing assignment. Orlandoproduced their first single, 1984's "West End Girls"; the song was a minor hit in the U.S. but went nowhere in Britain and its follow-up, "One More Chance," was also unsuccessful. Upon signing to EMI, the Pet Shop Boysissued 1985's biting "Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money)"; when it too failed to attract attention, the duo's future appeared grim, but they then released an evocative new Stephen Hagueproduction of "West End Girls," which became an international chart-topper. Its massive success propelled the Pet Shop Boys' 1986 debut LP Pleaseinto the Top Ten and when "Opportunities" was subsequently reissued, it too became a hit. In 1987, the duo resurfaced with the superb Actually, which launched three more Top Ten smashes: "It's a Sin," a lovely cover of the perennial "Always on My Mind," and "What Have I Done to Deserve This?," a duet between Tennant and the great Dusty Springfield. A year later, Pet Shop Boysissued their third studio LP, the eclectic Introspective; the single "Domino Dancing" was their final Top 40 hit in the U.S. The duo next collaborated with a variety of performers, most notably Liza Minnelli, for whom they produced the 1989 LP Results. They also produced material for Springfield, and Tennant joined New Orderfrontman Bernard Sumnerand ex-Smithsguitarist Johnny Marrin the group Electronic, scoring a hit with the single "Getting Away With It." The Pet Shop Boysreconvened in 1990 for the muted, downcast Behavior, while 1991 saw the release of their hit medley of U2's "Where the Streets Have No Name" and Frankie Valli's "Can't Take My Eyes Off You." It was followed in 1993 by Very, lauded among the duo's finest efforts to date. After a three-year absence, the Pet Shop Boysresurfaced with Bilingual, a fluid expansion into Latin rhythms; Nightlifefollowed in 1999.

DJ Jazzy Jeff's accomplishments extend well beyond his status as one-half of a multi-platinum rap duo. Regarded as a pioneering turntable tactician for his well-honed skills and for his development of the transformer scratch, the Philadelphian (born Jeff Townes) founded a production house -- called A Touch of Jazz -- a few years into his alliance with Will Smith as DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince. Since parting ways with his partner, the DJ has worked on records by KRS-One, Kenny Lattimore, Jill Scott, J-Live, and King Britt's Sylk 130. In 2002, he put together a stylistically diverse solo album for BBE; Magnificent, like a Quincy Jones record, found Jeff supported by a number of co-stars, most of whom were also Philadelphians.

British singer Boy George combined a strong, soulful singing voice with a provocative sense of fashion, both of which were first brought to the attention of English and American audiences in the group Culture Club, for whom he served as lead singer from 1982 to 1986. The group wrote and played impeccable pop music, and Boy George's androgynous persona -- heavy makeup and outrageous costumes -- gave the group a distinct video image in the dawn of MTV. That very distinctiveness, however, made the group date quickly, and at the same time Boy George encountered highly publicized personal difficulties. He re-emerged as a solo singer in 1987 with Sold, which contained a U.K. number one cover of Bread's "Everything I Own," but was unable to duplicate this success in the U.S. Boy George enjoyed four British singles' chart entries in 1987 and another three in 1988. His second album, Tense Nervous Headache(1988), was not picked up for release in the U.S.; his third, Boyfriend(1989), was a Europe-only release, though Virgin Records cobbled the second and third albums together to present a second U.S. album, High Hat(1989). In 1991 came The Martyr Mantras, another patchwork album largely made up of previously non-LP dance singles. In the U.K., it was credited to a new group, Jesus Loves You, and released on Boy George's own More Protein record label, though Virgin in the U.S. billed it as a Boy George album. By 1992, Boy George had faded at home, and in the U.S. his solo career had never taken off. Then he was brought in to sing a version of the '60s chestnut "The Crying Game" in a production by the Pet Shop Boys, as the title song for a movie that became the sleeper hit of the winter of 1992-1993, resulting in his first substantial U.S. hit as a solo artist. Cheapness and Beautyfollowed in 1995, and four years later Boy George resurfaced with the rarities collection Unrecoupable One Man Bandit. Throughout the '90s, he delved back into the club scene that birthed his early romanticism, and made a name for himself as DJ in demand. It became more than a hobby toward the end of the millennium, and Boy George garnered attention in the U.K. and U.S. club circuits; such musical creativity was captured on Essential Mix, released in fall 2000.

In the mid-'90s, Noel Gallagher received much press -- most of it negative -- for his candid admiration of his own songwriting abilities. However, Gallagher's braggadocio can be viewed as having merit considering the worldwide success and critical acclaim of his band, Oasis. Gallagher was born on May 29, 1967, in Longsight, Manchester, England. At the age of 13, Gallagher began teaching himself how to play guitar, imitating the riffs of his favorite songs. While working for a building company, a weighty cap from a steel gas pipe landed on Gallagher's right foot, crushing it. The accident forced Gallagher into the less strenuous job of working in a storehouse; it also gave him more time for guitar practice and writing songs. In 1988, Gallagher auditioned to be a member of Inspiral Carpets. Although he was turned down, Inspiral Carpetshired him as a roadie. In the early '90s, Gallagher joined Oasiswith his brother, Liam Gallagher(vocals), Paul McGuigan(bass), Tony McCarroll(drums), and Paul Arthurs(guitar). Often inundated with comparisons to the Beatles, Oasislaunched another British Invasion in the mid-'90s, as well as resuscitating back-to-basics rock & roll in England. On Aug. 23, 1996, Noel Gallagher sang lead vocals on Oasis' performance for MTV's Unpluggedafter his sibling complained of a sore throat. Later that year, he appeared on the Chemical Brothers' "Setting Sun" single.

Beginning his career during the mid-'80s under the name the Fresh Prince, by the following decade rapper Will Smithwas one of the biggest superstars of his time -- not only a pop music sensation, he also conquered television and eventually feature films, starring in a string of box-office megahits. Born September 25, 1968, in Philadelphia, he was 16 when he met aspiring DJ Jeff Townes; joining forces as DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, the duo immediately became local favorites, but their continued existence was threatened when Smith graduated high school and was offered a scholarship to MIT. Ultimately, he chose to pursue a career in music, and in 1987 he and Townesissued their debut record, Rock the House, scoring a hit with the single "Girls Ain't Nothing but Trouble."

Propelled by the smash "Parents Just Don't Understand," DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Princebroke into the mainstream a year later with He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper, one of the first hip-hop LPs to achieve double-platinum status. Clean-cut, witty, and easygoing, the duo's bubblegum approach was a stark contrast to the dominant, harder-edged rap sound of the period; viewed as a non-threatening alternative to their peers, they received the parental seal of approval, and their appeal spread across racial lines as well. And in This Corner...followed in 1989, and soon Hollywood began taking notice of Smith's success; in 1990, he was tapped to star in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, a sitcom for NBC. An immediate hit, it made Smith a household name, and continued in production through 1996.

Smith also continued his music career, and in 1991 DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Princescored their biggest chart hit to date with the excellent "Summertime," from the album Homebase. The year following, he made his feature film debut in the drama Where the Day Takes You; in 1993, his supporting turn in Six Degrees of Separationwas the subject of much critical acclaim. That same year, the final Jazzy Jeff/Fresh Princerecord, the disappointing Code Red, was released. In 1995, Smith co-starred in the action film Bad Boys, a major box-office hit; it set the stage for his leading role in 1996's Independence Day, the summer's biggest smash. A year later, he starred in Men in Black, again the box-office champ of the summer season; recording for the first time under his given name, he also scored a smash with the movie's rap theme. Smith's debut solo LP, Big Willie Style, also appeared in 1997, notching the hits "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It," "Just the Two of Us," and "Miami." Shortly on the heels of his first box-office disappointment, 1999's Wild Wild West, he returned with the album Willennium.
