Daled was a slayer that happened to be travelling through the vicinity when the team was formed. Knowing about the number of large players that are involved in many teams nowadays he agreed to put his axe down and pick up his knuckledusters instead, searching for death and glory on the field is far more spectacular than dying in the middle of nowhere!

Morgrim was not a slayer when the band formed together into a team, but has been disgraced since in training. While in a bar practising raising his arm he happened to imbide rather too freely. On his way back from the bar he was caught by the debris from a halfling food fight, sending him reeling down a flight of stairs and knocking him out. When he awoke everyone had gone and there was no way for him to avenge the insult of being downed by someone smaller than him! He took the slayers oath but had already commited to the team, therefore honour bound to seek his death on the field rather than in the open country.
