Oderus Urungus is 43 billion years old, and was assembled on a planet called Scumdogia in "Syntho Womb 5" after pieces of his moldy war frame were found scattered throughout the galaxy. According to interviews, Oderus' father was a supercomputer, and his mother was a petri dish

His home planet is an uncertainty, in an interview conducted during a 1997 tour, Flattus explained his hazy memory was due to his notorious pot smoking, at which point he seemed to recall a planet named Pot (made entirely of cannabis) he once called home, but he ended up destroying it by smoking the entire planet out of existence. Although his explanation was never officially set in stone, it's one of many theories as to where Flattus really originates from. What is apparent, though, is that he is illiterate, has a slight Southern accent, and that he attributes his "explosive guitar style" to a strict diet of vegetarians, which also causes his infamous atomic flatulence.

Not much is known about BalSac other than he was seen with the early band playing bass.

In the original GWAR lineup in 1985, Jaws of Death and BalSac were two different characters. Jaws of Death (played by Death Piggy guitarist Steve Douglas) wore a crude version of the familiar trap jaw the current BalSac the Jaws of Death wears, while BalSac (Chris Bopst) played bass and wore a simple open-face piece of spiked headgear.

Mr. Magico is a character and former member on shock rock band GWAR. It is known that original Death Piggy guitarist Russ Bahorsky's character in the original GWAR lineup was named Mr. Magico. However, it is not known for sure if he actually played an instrument for the band. It is believed that his replacement in Death Piggy, Steve Douglas, played guitar as Jaws of Death in the initial GWAR lineup, joined by Oderus Urungus on 2nd guitar and BalSac on bass. It is possible that Mr. Magico was a side-character, such as The Sexecutioner.

Stephen Sphincter was an early GWAR character, played by Ron Curry, who recorded six albums on SST Records with Hotel X. His on-stage brother was Hans Sphincter, played by drummer Jim Thompson.
After the departure of Nippleus Erectus, Lee Beato, played drums with GWAR for about three months in 1989. According to Mind Control Monthly #8:
"And then there was Lee Beato, but once he was thawed out he began to fade into a phantom and eventually turned into a mist and drifted away"
Beato's costume was a cross between Nippleus and Jizmak, with Nippleus' crossbones headpiece and Jizmak's early jawbone. A version was worn at the 1989 New Music Seminar show which featured skeletal batwings as well. (note: confirmed by Bobby Gorman on 10/14/06 that Luchter/Beato was the drummer at the '89 New Music Seminar show)

Beefcake the Mighty is the bassist in the rock band GWAR. He appears as a stout (hence his name) humanoid girded in Roman-style armor. He is usually portrayed wielding either an oversized Gladius sword or a large battle-axe (though recently that weapon has been in the hands of Balsac).
