Barker played college football at the University of Alabama, under head coach Gene Stallings. In the final game of the 1992 season, Barker led the Crimson Tide to a National Championship by defeating the #1 Miami Hurricanes 34–13 in the 1993 Sugar Bowl. In the 1994 season, Barker won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and finished 5th in the voting for the Heisman Trophy.[1] Barker led the Crimson Tide to a 26–11–1 record, due to an NCAA forfeiture of games during the 1993 season. Alabama was found to have played an ineligible player who supposedly signed with an agent after the 1992 National Championship Game.

Barker was drafted in the 1995 NFL Draft in the fifth round by the Green Bay Packers. During his NFL career, he also played for the New England Patriots and the Carolina Panthers.

In 1998, the Toronto Argonauts signed Barker, bringing him to the Canadian Football League.

After three seasons with the Argonauts, Barker left to join the Birmingham Thunderbolts in the XFL.[2] The XFL folded after just one season.

Palmer signed to play college football at the University of Alabama. Wearing number 2 and nicknamed "The Deuce", during his career for the Crimson Tide, Palmer became the school's first 1000 yard receiver in a single season. During his junior season, Palmer was an All-American at Alabama and a finalist for the Heisman Trophy finishing 3rd in the voting. Palmer, arguably, was one of the first "wildcat" quarterbacks. He was often known to take snaps directly under center and run to the right side of the line.He is said to be one of the greatest players to ever come out of the University of Alabama.

Palmer elected not to finish his collegiate career, turning pro after the 1993 college football season. He was a second round pick for the Minnesota Vikings in the 1994 NFL Draft.

Derrick Vincent Thomas (January 1, 1967 – February 8, 2000), nicknamed D.T., was an American football linebacker and defensive end for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He played his entire 11-year career for the Chiefs after being drafted fourth overall in the 1989 NFL Draft. Thomas, part of the class of 2009 entering the Pro Football Hall of Fame, was a premier football player throughout the 1990s and is considered one of the best pass rushers of all-time.[1] In 1990 against the Seattle Seahawks, he set an NFL record with seven sacks in a single game. On February 8, 2000, Thomas died from a massive blood clot that developed in his paralyzed lower extremities and traveled to his lungs. His paralysis was the result of severe injuries sustained in a car accident weeks earlier.
