Jansen was sixteen, when she joined Apocalypse (the name of the band After Forever in its early days) in 1997. Three years later the band released its first album, Prison of Desire. Floor's ability to sing both classical and rock music have made her reasonably popular in the metal scene. She took sole charge of After Forever's lyrics and vocal melodies since the departure of Mark Jansen (no relation) in 2002.[1] Prior to this, up until the Decipher (2001) album, the two would write together.
Floor started studying music at the Dutch Rock Academy in 1999 and entered the conservatory three years later. She studied Musical Theatre and one year of Opera. Later on, she started teaching performing in her own course called Wanna be a Star?!.
Floor plays the guitar, piano and flute and has completed several years of music studies, and has a Dramatic Soprano vocal range[citation needed].
Three albums by the Dutch composer and multi-instrumentalist Arjen Anthony Lucassen include guest vocals from Floor. She sang one song on Universal Migrator Part 1: The Dream Sequencer, made a number of contributions to the Star One project and plays the character ? in the Ayreon album 01011001. She is the older sister of fellow singer and Ayreon guest vocalist Irene Jansen, who played "Passion" on The Human Equation. She has also been a guest for the metal band Nightmare.

Nightwish is a symphonic metal band from Kitee, Finland. The band was formed in 1996 by lead songwriter and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, and vocalist Tarja Turunen, who was replaced in 2007 by former Alyson Avenue singer Anette Olzon. In 2002, original bassist Sami Vänskä was replaced by Marco Hietala, who also took over the male vocalist role previously filled by Holopainen or guest singers.[1]
Although Nightwish has been prominent in their home country since the release of their debut album, Angels Fall First (1997), they did not achieve worldwide fame until the release of the albums Oceanborn (1998), Wishmaster (2000) and Century Child (2002). Their 2004 album, Once, has sold more than 1 million copies[2] and was the band's breakthrough in the United States. Their biggest US hit single, “Wish I Had an Angel” (2004), received MTV airplay and was included on three US film soundtracks to promote their North American tour.[3][4] The band produced three more singles and two music videos for Once, as well as a re-recording of “Sleeping Sun” for the “best of” compilation album, Highest Hopes (2005), before Turunen's dismissal in October 2005.[3]
In May 2007, Nightwish announced Olzon as Turunen's replacement.[5] That September, the band released their sixth album, Dark Passion Play, which has sold almost 2 million copies. The album's lead single, "Amaranth", became one of Nightwish's most successful in Europe.[6] The supporting tour, one of the band's largest, started on October 6, 2007 and ended on September 19, 2009.[7][8] The band released an E.P./live album, Made in Hong Kong (And in Various Other Places), in March 2009 as a MCD/DVD, and their seventh studio album, Imaginaerum, was released globally on various days in late 2011/early 2012.[2][9]
On October 1, 2012, Nightwish announced that they had parted ways with Olzon and will be finishing the current tour with ReVamp vocalist Floor Jansen.[10][11]
Nightwish is the third-best-selling band and musical entity in Finland with sales of more than 900,000 certified copies.[12][13][14][15][16] The group is also the most successful Finnish band worldwide, selling more than 8 million records and receiving more than 60 gold and platinum awards.[2]

Dragonland is a power metal musical group from Sweden. The group is most notable for basing their two first albums upon the self-produced The Dragonland Chronicles fantasy saga and for the original symphonic/electronic parts by Elias Holmlid. Nightrage's Marios Iliopoulos and Dead by April's Jimmie Strimell provided guest appearances on their 2006 album, Astronomy.
On April 27 of 2008, work on an upcoming fifth Dragonland album was announced via Blabbermouth.
In September 2009, Dragonland launched their re-designed Myspace site, together with a high-quality preproduction of "The Shadow of The Mithril Mountains", a song from the fifth album.
On March 15 of 2011, Dragonland announced on their Myspace that the fifth album is nearing completion and they will start recording it on May 31.
On August 14 of 2011, Dragonland announced through their Facebook that the fifth album (Under the Grey Banner) was completed.
The album was released on November 18, 2011.

Symphony X /?s?mf?ni ??ks/ is an American progressive metal band from Middletown, New Jersey. Founded in 1994 by guitarist Michael Romeo, their albums The Divine Wings of Tragedy and V: The New Mythology Suite have given the band considerable attention within the progressive metal community. They also have achieved more commercial success with the 2007 album Paradise Lost; the band's 2011 album Iconoclast is the highest chart position and the most first-week sales in the band's history. Michael Romeo about the origin of their name: "So, you know, the music we were coming up with had the keyboard thing and the guitar, and some classical elements, so the word ‘Symphony’ came up and, so the dramatic thing, you know? So then, somebody said ‘Symphony X’ and we were like, ‘yeah, that’s cool’ it is that kinda thing, and the ‘X’ is the unknown and all the other stuff we do."[1]
