Whiterose was a township famous for its extensive and lush gardens before the Chaos Dwarfs trampled it underfoot. As head groundsman, Bungo Boffin had to watch as the 30,000 blooms he had spent his life cultivating went up in smoke. The dwarfs laughed as he wept, eyes wide at the horror, the roses curling up in the fires - the fauna and bodies blazing as one. Miles away, the sweet aromas of the massacred plants were thought to herald a plentiful spring.

Silverfish Isle Theatre was the envy of the whole county, its stage the largest, and lit up at night by 10,000 glow-worms suspended in fine silk spidersweb thread. The performances started at dusk, heralded by the sounding of the horn. Generations of Hornblower have held this vital office, of which Daisy was the first female for 2000 years (that being the legendary Nemima Hornblower.) When the theatre burned under the Chaos Dwarf torches Daisy fled with the treasured horn, which she keeps wrapped in paper in her pack, waiting for the day when she can once again call those from far and wide to a Silverfish stage.

Bywater was a township on the Seabreeze coast that consisted of two near-identical lagoons; Lightsand and Softsand. There existed between the residents of these two lagoons a fierce rivaly. When Lightsand built a high tower in honour of the setting sun, Softsand built their own tower one foot higher. When Softsand opened a grand library, Lightsand borrowed lots of books which they had no intention of returning. When the Chaos Dwarfs destroyed Bywater in a classic pincer movement, the helpless elves of both lagoons huddled terrified in each others arms as the two halves of the city burned together; unified in glorious destruction.

Great Smyles is a peaceful farming township at the foot of Heavymist Mountain. Or at least it was, before the Chaos Dwarves arrived and destroyed everything they couldn't eat, and ate everything they could. Podo was up on the mountain that day with his flock of milklambs when he saw the smoke rising from his home far below. By the time he arrived back it was too late. Nothing remained of Great Smyles but the charred remains of the livestock and occaional half-eaten high elves. Podo still hopes to be reunited with survivors of his hometown, but every day that passes it seems less and less likely that anyone survived the dwarf attack other than him.

Myrtle Took comes from a long and illustrious line of Tooks, the famous founding fathers of Silverfish Isle. It is said that when the High Elves arrived in Silverfish Maniddyion bade them stop on the coast. She dove into the green sea, and every drop of water that splashed onto the land a home appeared for every one of her followers. When Maniddyion appeared once more from the depths, she had in her arms fish to feed their families and pearls to clothe them.

Myrtle herself was a student and philosopher before the Halls Of Learning were burned by the Chaos Dwarves. It is likely that other Tooks survived the attack, as many are known to have secret tunnels from their homes leading to the nearby forests; but Myrtle remains the only one to have come out of hiding since the town was destroyed. Young and headstrong, Myrtle is determined to win more glory for her famous name.

Darkwater - contrary to its name - is an idealic lagoon on the Silver Coast, birthplace of the celebrated high elf philosopher Handho Heavyclinch (who famously said, "A dwarf dodging is like a dog on it's hind legs; you know it can happen, but you are always surprised when it does!") and home of the finest tobacco shop in the region. When the Chaos Dwarfs arrived many of the inhabitants leaped into the clear blue waters in the belief that they would be safe from the monsters away from dry land. The dwarfs produced their blunderbusses and massacred them like fish in a barrel. Heaveho survived by hiding himself under waves with an improvised reed snorkel to allow him to stay submerged. The bodies of his fallen friends and family drifted down past him in macabre and bloody slow motion until one by one they disappeared into the invisible depths. He dared not emerge until a full day later, to find only the smouldering ruins of his once proud township and the faint smell of burned manuscripts and gunpowder in the air.
