Ride of the Valkyrians
Banquo has only ever loved one thing and that was himself. Profoundly selfish, Banquo surprised everyone in the tribe of the Valkryians when he proved himself as a deadly warrior on the battlefield capable of tremendous feats of bravery and savagery in equal measures.
Banquo's love of himself was, in a sense, the fuel that drove him to become such a formidable warrior and it was this that drew Loki's interest. Indeed, the fact that Banquo was loved, despised and feared by his fellow tribesmen led Loki to believe Banquo held great promise of becoming a legendary blood bowl player.
Loki came to Banquo in the guise of a raven, and told him that he was not anywhere near as famous as he should be. Indeed, Loki told him that Banquo should be ashamed of his pitiful victories on the battlefield and that the only way to regain the favour of Odin is to become the greatest blood bowl player on the face of the Earth.
Banquo couldn't help himself and found himself signing up to the Ride of the Valkyrians the next morning, preparing himself for a legendary journey or an early grave...
In his very first match, Banquo earnt himself the respect of the fans by badly injuring one of the opposition in a local derby match against rival team the Icepelts!

Fangdir of the famed Cavournut is a fearsome warrior and hunter, famed for his ability with a harpoon and for killing the great whale, Mohamdir.
Fangdir's great love, however, was to gamble and this was to prove his downfall. On a drunken night after a successful whale hunt, Fangdir ended up accepting a bet with a mysterious stranger.
The stranger bet him a golden suit of diamond encrusted armour and the most beautiful sword Fangdir had ever seen that Fangdir could not throw a blood bowl ball as far as he could. In exchange, if Fangdir lost, he would have to join the local blood bowl team and play until he was 'retired' by fate.
Fangdir was so bedazzled by the craftmanship of the armour and sword that all it took was a quick demonstration of the swords deadliness for him to agree to the bet.
Little did Fangdir know that it was Loki the God of Mischief that he had just agreed to compete against and he was hapless in the face of Loki's magical throw. Fangdir, a man of his word, found himself signing up to the Ride of the Valkyrians the next day... Much to the delight of Loki whose cunning plan was gradually coming together.
In his first match, Fangdir was to prove Loki right and scored against a fierce Norse team in a local derby match to equalize and ultimately secure a draw.
