Background

Although the Trueshot family have been starting throwers for the Breakers for a dozen generations, Lilin is the first female thrower to play for the side. She took over the starting job from her uncle, Jaaral Trueshot, following his early retirement due to a tragic money-counting accident that left him with no fingers on his throwing hand. Lilin, meanwhile, had no desire to play Bloodbowl, instead wanting to pursue a part-time media course at her local after-hours college, while sneaking off to play bass in the Dark Elf punk band Knife in the Back.

-

After 1 game / her 1st game

Yet her family coaxed her into taking up her family's position, and she posted a more than respectable single pass for a single yard in her debut against the Chaos team Gobbos in Disguise, a 1-0 defeat.

-

After 2 games / her 2nd game

Apparently her family's faith was well-placed; Lilin threw the game's only touchdown in a 1-0 win over the Orc Iron Rock Warlords, a long pass from the opposition half to Nialla Hearthfang standing deep in the enemy endzone. Despite being marked by two players, the pass was good, the ball caught, and the Breakers recorded their first win outside of the walls of their Whitevale home.

-

After 7 games / her 7th game

In the team's tight 1-1 draw against the Goblin side Carlisle United, Lilin threw a bomb to Trianeth Deepwell from the halfway line, breaking her record for the longest touchdown pass thrown, and putting up the first points since the death of star catcher Nialla Hearthfang two games prior. Lilin out all of her touchdown bonus towards printing Knife in the Back t-shirts, ahead of the band's upcoming tour of the Free Elven Cities.

-

After 9 games / her 9th game

Lilin threw two touchdown passes against the Undead Premier Funny Bones, one to Vialli Redspear and one to Aaera Bluebow, each of whom took the thrower's short pass and scampered untouched into the opposition endzone. For her performance, Lilin was presented with her first career MVP award, and a handsome bonus payment. She would usually use such funds to promote her band, but her growing fame in Whitevale led to the Knife in the Back having their most commercially successful tour in history, selling out four consecutive venues, including the prestigious Frostspike Climber's Cabin, leaving her with money to spare. She spent the cash on, in no particular order, a new five-string bass, a set of Lilin Trueshot replica jersies for the team, and a new silvore breastplate.

-

After 10 games / her 10th game

The team's star thrower became one of only three players to have started all ten of the side's opening games - along with linewoman Luminia Royalblade and catcher Aaera Bluebow - and posted a career-high four completions in a 2-1 victory over the Goblin side Versatility 1. Lilin controlled the ball well in her own half on both scoring drives, before striding to the halfway line to fire strikes to Aaera downfield, who ran both passes into the endzone. The pair's chemistry on the field has led to speculation that Aaera may be invited back into Knife in the Back, especially due to Lilin's reported recent falling-out with the band's longtime guitarist, Saalai Foulhorn.

-

After 13 games / her 13th game

Lilin was going through a rough patch as the team's career developed, throwing a mere two passes over two games; the latter, against the Chaos side Try Chaos, ended in Lilin's first serious injury, a gouged eye that will keep her out of the side's following match. Rumours are flying around that her relationship with Aaera is beginning to dominate other aspects of her life; the latest Knife in the Back tour was cut short by three cities so Lilin could return to Boldpeak sooner, and the amount of off-key punk rock being played in her family mansion at three in the morning has more than tripled since Aaera began scoring touchdowns. Either way, Lilin will have a full game away from the team to recover, and reconsider her priorities.

-

After 22 games / her 21st game

After her break, Lilin returned to the team and posted a string of strong performances to start her career in the ELF league, despite the team's poor 1-4 record. Throwing nine passes in four games, and notching two casualties against the Goblin Gobbo's side, Lilin has taken command of the side and, much to the delight of her neighbours, has stopped trying to shoehorn drop-D bass solos into her songs at unsociable hours.

Background

Despite her grandiose family name, Luminia is actually a Whitevale noble by marriage, not birth. Hailing from the small farming village of Woodlock far to the north of Whitevale, the five twin sisters of the Royalblade family happened upon Luminia's family when riding through the settlement. Luminia and her four brothers were working to provide for themselves at a young age, following a tragic accident in which both of their parents were killed by falling in a marsh to prove to their skeptical children that 'it's not really that deep kids'; the Royalblade sisters took pity on the orphaned farmers, and each agreed to marry one sibling to bring them into a world of wealth and luxury. However, with a total of four men and six women, the eldest Royalblade sister, Vallaua, was presented with Luminia to marry. Being bound by the oath shared by her and her sisters to marry the poor orphans, and taking into account that Whitevale marriage laws don't /technically/ ban non-traditional weddings, the suddenly-expanded Royalblade can had a ten-person wedding a few months later, involving six brides, four grooms, two punchups and, mercifully, only one drunken grandfather falling into a table.

Luminia, unlike her brothers, did not adapt well to a life of luxury. While her newly-married brothers settled into a life of extravagance, comfort, and reclining on divans in uncomfortable positions for the explicit purpose of flaunting one's wealth, she preferred physical labour to pass the time. Finding such opportunities limited in a borough in which 90% of the population are land-owning snobs, she took to the Bloodbowl field to smash some heads, and fund her buying her wife an anniversary present.

-

After 10 games / her 10th game

Luminia's quiet and industrious nature is reflected in her performances on the field; she is the only player to have played all ten opening games for the Breakers - along with thrower Lilin Trueshot and catcher Aaera Bluebow - without developing any of her skills and abilities. Her wife Vallaua would say it's because Luminia is perfect already, but that's just the kind of thing a pampered spouse would say a few days after receiving a gold-saddled pony for an anniversary gift.

Background

Aerchie is the latest in a long line of Blackrings to play for the Breakers, yet will forever be the last due to the family history of calamatous bad luck that has led to the clan being unceremonisouly booted out of Boldpeak and into the relative squalor of Oldbrick. He has remained on the team due to his admittedly short-sighted lifetime contract signed two decades ago, and now anchors the Line of Scrimmage, placed there by his teammates so he, hopefully, is injured out of the game permanently and so the Blackring line can be purged from the Breakers roster.

-

After 1 game / his 1st game

Yet having donated his black ring, the heirloom from which his family takes its name, to his great-grandson Tommi - who has curiosuly gone on to break passing records for the Oldtown Arrows - his luck has miraculously improved, winning the MVP award in the first match of the season, and even completing his first career pass!

Background

Aaera is an old flame of Lilin Trueshot, their team's thrower. The two met while they were in university, and for a time Aaera played drums in her almost-famous punk band Knife in the Dark, yet was kicked out after they broke up, and the rest of the band realised that he was a bit naff on drums. Since then, he has flitted from Bloodbowl team to Bloodbowl team; the Bluebow family are one of the lesser houses of Boldpeak, and so their youngest son has been under no obligation to play for the Breakers. Consequently, he has enjoyed stints with the Oldbrick Arrows, the Greenhelm Marauders, their rivals the Greenhelm Bears, and even the Chaos Pact Silentstreet Warriors.

Having run out of money, and suffering a rib injury in his final game for the Warriors, he tried to resurrect his musical career and took up guitar in the post-hardcore band Masters of Tomorrow, based in Silentstreet. Finding six strings more liberating than drumsticks, he delighted crowds with his endless stage dives, and willingness to pay for extra rounds at the afterparty. This continued for a few more months, until his debts grew too great, the band broke up, and he was chased out of town by a mob of disillusioned moshers. Falling back on what little weight his family's name carried, and looking for a highly-paying employer, he signed up for the Breakers, reuniting him with his old partner and bassist.

-

After 7 games / his 7th game

Aaera recorded his first casualty, and was crowdsurfed for the first time, in the same game against the Goblin side Carlisle United. Having successfully walloped one of the squishier Greenskins on the sideline, he turned to the crowd to soak up their applause, reliving his times on stage in front of his fans. However, much like his musical career in which no-one paid any attention to the drummer, all the fans ignored his tackle, instead focusing on the death of his teammate, Kuriah Darkstone, who had been smashed by a troll. Frustrated, Aaera didn't notice the Goblin shove him from behind, and into the crowd, for what was the first unwanted trip among cheering fans Aaera had taken.

-

After 10 games / his 10th game

Following the death of his receiving partner Nialla Hearthfang, who was at the time the unquestioned star of the team, it was expected that Aaera would take over as the team's number one receiver. Yet two games passed and the young catcher scored not a touchdown, taking his tally to zero in seven games. Additionally, a broken finger in his right hand prevented him from practicing any of his sick riffs, and so his musical ability fell off a cliff. Yet then, everything clicked; in three consecutive games against the Crookback Crimsons, Premier Funny Bones and Versatility 1 teams he scored four touchdowns, spearheading the team to two victories and a draw. He also became one of three players, along with linewoman Luminia Royalblade and thrower Lilin Trueshot, to start the opening ten games of the Breakers' career; his sudden scoring revival, and his constant on-field chemistry with the latter teammate, have led many to speculate that the pair will consider getting back together.

Perhaps they need to spend less time listening to punk, and more time with the arrogantly anti-makeup sex songs of Elven singer Taayla Swiftsong.

-

After 12 games / his 12th game

Aaera set a new record for the team in their 1-0 win over the Chaos Dwarf Dinky Does side. In addition to handing-off the ball to Yaolo Nightcloak for the game-winning score, he intercepted a bomb thrown by an enemy Minotaur, and promptly lobbed the explosive back to its owner, who dropped it at their feet and was stunned by the blast. In doing so, the catcher became the first Breaker to use a bomb on the field, and was awarded the game MVP for his /explosive/ performance.

The writer of these bios is now being formally disciplined for their use of that pun.

-

After 21 games / his 21st game

Aaera scored his seventh career touchdown against the Necromatic Ravenous Rippers team, and gave the Breakers their first win in the ELF league, a slender 2-1 victory. It is rumoured that he and Lilin have all but ended their relationship, allowing the latter to flourish on the field, and inspiring the former to start wearing extravagantly heavy black eyeliner and launch a solo musical career that he describes as 'electric funk-pipes'. Said career remains financially and artistically unsuccessful.

Background

The Nightcloak family, despite their dark and roguish name, are actually a distinguished family of traveling acrobats. While some may consider such a profession odd for a clan claiming such nobility, in reality there is easy money to be made touring the world and charging low prices to watch Elves jump off things; even the poorest Skaven and slowest Orcs will pay to watch a knife-ear risk falling from a great height and breaking their neck. As a result, her family's estate is rather more carnivalesque than that of some of her neighbours; it is, in fact, a big top, complete with all the usual accessories: flags, banners, and a 75-foot statue of Yaola's great-grandfather, the first of the Nightcloak acrobats.

They are High Elves, after all.

-

After 12 games / her 4th game

Yaola finally scored her first touchdown, a game-winning effort in the team's tight 1-0 win over the Chaos Dwarf Dinky Does side. Taking a handoff from teammate and game MVP Aaera Bluebow, she stalled for time near the enemy endzone before scoring right at the halftime whistle. Sadly her prepared touchdown celebration, throwing a pie at one of her friends in the stands, backfired when she missed the throw, hit a visiting Chaos Warrior in the face, and in the resulting brawl six fans were killed, and the joke was rather wasted.

Yaola's hapless friend is hoping she doesn't score again any time soon.
