Hailing from the famously bleak mountains of Wissenland, Emme Walden's countenance couldn't be more different from the regional stereotypes. An ebullient player who brightens the locker room and serves as a sort of leader to the team, Walden is also one of the most daring receivers in Blood Bowl. Coaches have told her to rein in her risky play for fear of injury or worse, but as long as she keeps scoring touchdowns, it's hard for them to enforce any such rules.
The defection of highly touted prospect Hieronymus Boldt from Drakenhof, where he had been committed to attend, was one of the biggest stories in college Blood Bowl last season. Was there any truth to the rumors that Wurtbad had offered the young catcher a massive bribe to switch schools? Did he realize that, talented as he was, it would probably take him some time to challenge Clyde Duncan for his starting role? Or was he eager to get out of his native Sylvania -- a completely understandable goal for a young non-undead man with a bright future? Nobody really knows the roots of his decision, and the grim, taciturn Boldt certainly isn't talking. He prefers to make his statements on the field, with his feet.

One of the most prized recruits to enter the college game in some time, Roderickson earned her nickname at an early age. The fans joked that the young quarterback's arm was the only cannon in Stirland, but that it was worth as much as all the guns in Nuln. Time will tell whether this bit of hyperbole proves true at the college level, but so far, things look promising.
There aren't a lot of roles in college football more thankless than backing up Veronika Roderickson. While he's shown the ability to be a perfectly solid game manager, Claussen doesn't get a lot of playing time for the Stompers, for obvious reasons. Claussen's mind for the game is better than his arm, and rumors suggest that he's looking to go into coaching after college.
Virtually uniquely among the Stompers' players, Katrin Weinhandler is attending college primarily to learn to make wine. She's a native of Wurtbad, and as her name suggests, her ancestors are fairly wealthy vintners. She enrolled with no athletic scholarship and no thought of playing college Blood Bowl, but she joined the practice squad as a walk-on and eventually made the team. She has talent, and she's shown a knack for blocking, but she's very devoted to her studies, an attribute frowned upon by the coaches. Her career path seems more likely to lead her to take over her family's business than to become a pro athlete, but you never know... she has gotten this far.
Some people claim that Hartmut Hass earned his nickname because he possesses the ferocity of an eagle and the speed of a galloping horse. Others say that Hass is called "Hippogriff" because he flies down the field like an eagle and attacks with the raw power of a mighty stallion. The Altdorf native is the anchor of the Stompers' defense.

The first ogre ever to enroll at Wurtbad Wine College, "Big Val" is also the only player for whom the team name is literally true: she's majoring in stomping grapes. There's no word on the academic rigor of the program, or indeed why one would need a degree to step on wine grapes, but her grades are apparently excellent.
