The great Robert Baratheon led a rebellion against the Mad King to avenge his lost love. Bested by a boar while drunk hunting. Not a bad way to go, actually.

The enigmatic guide-beyond-the-wall is as mysterious as he is dead. But is he dead? He's probably dead. It's speculated that he's really Benjen Stark, raised from the dead by some strange magic. But since we don't know who he is, it's hard to say how he died to begin with.
He also rides a giant elk, which is pretty sweet.

The Dothraki warriors only cut their hair when they're bested in battle. Khal Drogo had never lost a battle, but died from an infected cut somehow. #AntiVaxxer4Life

Sometimes people in Westeros die. And then aren't dead because some lord of light wills it. The corpse of Catelyn Stark was resurrected this way, and then went on a murderous rampage to take revenge on those who betrayed her. Banshee seemed appropriate.

Robert's youngest brother Renly fancied himself a better king than their middle brother, Stannis, after Robert's death. He also had the support to back that claim, with most of his house and several others rallying to his cause. Stannis however, had different plans; using his advisor, the "Red Woman", they crafted a spell that sent a shadow to kill his brother, stabbing him in the heart.
The next morning, most of his brother's army joined his side.

Oberyn Martell was a skilled assassin, who's driving force was avenging the death of his sister and her children at the hands of a madman. When he was given the opportunity to confront the man, he succeeded in besting him in combat. Unfortunately in his insolence from this victory, he insisted on a confession before the man died, and was subsequently tripped, knocked out, and had his skull crushed before his opponent succumbed to his wounds.
Pretty gnarly. Some women probably screamed.
