Custom Tournaments

Fumbbl users have the ability to start Tournaments within their private Leagues and Groups, as long as the teams are League Division teams.

In order to run a tournament in a custom league, the group must be configured in one of two ways:

1. It must be a league (meaning a ruleset must be configured). or 2. There must be "parent league" linked, which has the ruleset configured

The intent for the second option is for larger leagues where the commissioner wants to effectively group the tournaments into their own groups rather than having them all mixed in a single page.

The tournament options are as follows:

  • Name - Name of the tournament
  • Tournament Mode - Tournament mode defines how the tournament will interact with seasons (if enabled). Details can be found on the linked page.
  • Season - An informative setting, mostly for informative purposes
  • Tournament Style - Determines the structure of the tournament. The details for the styles are listed on the linked page.

Scored tournament types can be configured with various scoring options, and tie-breaker priorities.

The team table will always be sorted by highest score first, followed by sorting by the configured tie-breakers. The following tie-breaker methods are available:

  • Buchholz - Total score of opponents
  • Buchholz Cut 1 - Total score of opponents, but ignoring the lowest opponent
  • Sonneborn-Berger - Sum of scores for opponents defeated, plus half the score of drawn opponents
  • Direct Encounter - Sum of scores only within groups of teams, and only if each team has the same number of games played against others in the group
  • TD + Cas - Total TDs + Casualties caused
  • TD - Total TDs
  • Cas - Total Casualties caused
  • Delta TD+Cas - Total TDs + Casualties caused minus TDs and Casulties caused by opponent
  • Delta TD - Total TDs minus TDs by opponent
  • Delta Cas - Total Casualties minus Casualties caused by opponent
  • Wins - Total number of wins
  • Ties - Total number of ties
  • Average Rating of Opponents - Average CR of opponents
  • Average Rating of Opponents Cut 1 - Average CR of opponents, but ignoring the lowest opponent
