Describe LaughingGods here.
"Beware of the Harlequin. Although he may appear to be a charming and harmless jester fully at home with the ball and high society, he is far from it. He is a cunning trickster who's cold eyes could freeze the breath of the dragon."
Harlequins are a branch of High Elf life, that have become detached from the usual cycle. Just like Pro Elf Blood Bowl players and Aspect Warriors that have become caught on the path of soldiering.
Unlike the other 2; the path of the Harlequin, is even more detached. Harlequins pass their skill from generation to generation and decide very young, that they will leave the path of the High Elf.
Like Pro Elves and Aspect Warriors; Harlequins are not trusted fully by High Elves. However the relationship with those that have fallen off of the life path is a complex one and case by case. It is widely thought that to be a balanced Elf, you must experience all aspects of life. It broadens and educates the mind, removes a blinkered out look and helps for an Elf to appreciate all aspects of life. Those that leave the path, tend to suffer from negative characteristics. These can be minor or rather major, depending on the individual and how long they stayed on the path.
As Harlequins decide (or have it decided for them) from a young age that they will not tread the path of the High Elf, it is widely thought that they are not fully sane; much the same way that High Elves view Wood Elves. However, like Wood Elves Harlequins are separate from High Elf society. They worship a different god, have a different out look and priorities.
Although it cannot be denied that living the patch of an Elf is important for a balanced mind, Harlequin society has its own ways of maintaining a balanced mind. They have their own path, where each Elf find's their own niche and sticks to it. They start as part of the Troupe, and as they become more experienced they deviate onto a special path. Becoming a Death Jester, Domino, Mime, Solitaire, The Warlock or a vessel for the Avatar itself%%
Unlike other High Elves; Harlequins do not live in Cities and move around similar to Old World Gypsies. These travelling camps or Troupes are welcomed by High Elven towns (as is tradition). Traditionally, Harlequin Troupes are travelling theatres performing plays that are thousands of years old, and remembered by all society. They tell stories of the gods, their fall, the deceit of the dark ones among other and lighter stories.
However more and more travelling Troupes have taken to be more than travelling theatres. As the sport of Blood Bowl has grown, many Troupes also have travelling teams; a few even specialize in Blood Bowl over theatre. One troupe in fact (The Laughing Gods) are so good, they no longer show the old plays or are expected to. When they visit, a show spectacular is expected and is usually delivered. The Laughing God Troupe's only show, is the game of Blood Bowl.
Harlequin players, are very much different than usual Blood Bowl teams. Each team only has one of each position. Once a player retires from this position, a new individual is chosen to take his place and will fill this role his whole Blood Bowl career.
TROUPE: The Troupe refers to the group or an individual. In a Blood Bowl team, it generally refers to a Harlequin 'Lineman'. However be aware, Harlequins are for more skilled than any Lineman you'll meet else where.

DEATH JESTER: With his mask of death and towering size, he is a formidable opponent. Far tougher and domineering that a normal Elf.

DOMINO: Domino is a contrasting individual. It is thought that these are the least sane of any Harlequins. Unable to keep their mind on one thought. Dominoes are so contrasting, it hurts the eyes to look at one, and it becomes unclear as to where he actually is or indeed what is his actual role.

SOLITAIRE: The Solitaire is a brooding individual, that spends long periods alone in thought. It's not that they dislike the company of others, but generally seek their own council. On the Blood Bowl field, they fill the role of a Blitzer type player. They tend to play similarly to and have a lot of similarities to Pro Elf blitzers.

MIME: The Mime maybe one of the most powerful positionals in Blood Bowl, if not the most powerful. The Mime is the master of mimicking others, which a good one can do perfectly. The Mime can mimic ANY Elven Blood Bowl player it has seen. Be that High, Wood, Pro, Dark or another type of Elf.
SPECIAL RULE: The Mime can be any Elven positional it has played against. It can change position between games (although any skills from SPP can not be changed). The Mime pays exactly the same price in TV as the positional it is Mimicking. This means that the TV he costs, changes for each game.
It is against custom for a Mime to mimic another troupe member; so they never play the part of another Harlequin. However, all Harlequins would have seen a High Elf team play at some point, so for their first game they can be any High Elf positional.

WARLOCK: The Warlock is the leader of the troupe, if there is no vessel for the Avatar. He is the leader troupe leader in everyday life, can commune with the gods and is a magic user. By communing with the gods, so is the destination of the troupe chosen. The avatar wears a faceless mask and 3 long metal claws on the knuckles of each hand.

Special Rule: The Warlock is a magic user. You may purchase a wizard for 100k.
