Describe StealerClan here.
It's hard to believe there are aliens living among us. Yet before Cabal Vision, very few people believed in Skaven. Nobody (apart from the Slann) is quite sure what is out there, beyond the tallest peaks of Evermore Stadium and into the eternally dark sky.
However what is for sure is that Genestealers have been living among us for quite some time. It's not certain why they came here; possibly the easy pickings due to the weak human mind and the refusal to believe they are a problem could be the reason. Another reason could be for the love of Blood Bowl. It's certainly not beyond the realms of possibility, that somewhere up there in space aliens are watching the game and are eager to get involved.
How long they have been here is also shrouded in mystery, but one team that could shed some light on that if they wish to, would be the Chaos Allstars. For a long time Garak Grigolson starred for the Allstars. The 'human' blitzer with his grotesquely mis-shappen helmet starred as the team. Most thought he was a mutation, however that was far from the truth. After his retirement it was discovered that he was actually a 4th generation genestealer.
So successful was Garak, that after moving on from the Allstars, they sought other Stealer players. From what source, it is unknown. Possibly there is a colony somewhere in the Wastes. Possibly there is a secret cult that Allstars have access to. Because just like how secretive Chaos Cults flourish in the cellars of the Old World, so do the Cults of the GeneStealers?.
Since Garak's time, the Allstars have procured 2 more GeneStealer? players. The thrower Krefft the Despised (Despised because he keeps sticking his Genes where they're not wanted. Most allstar players (bar Morg) are terrified of leaving their tea unattended) and the blitzer Juergen Demonfeeder.
Unlike Garak, these 2 do not wear helmets to hide their true identity; and although many through ignorance believe them to be mutants, it is quite clear to the educated that they are not. We will see how the Blood Bowling and world as a whole view these 2 in a couple of seasons time if their potential takes them to the heights of Garak at his peak. What will the future for this planet and Genestealers be then?
Gene Stealers are creatures from the Warp that come to this planet to make new colonies. They sneak into the destitute areas of humanity and infect a host. Over time and generations, the human hosts become more and more alien like until by the 6th generation, the Gene has been totally taken over by the alien species and the offspring are totally alien. First generation, look totally human, the second less so and so on. It's up to this first generation to hide and protect the future generations in secret cults, until the brood is strong enough to take full control of the local area.
In Blood Bowling terms, it appears that Genestealers do have a soft spot for the game, and broods will try to create teams for local leagues. To start with, 1st generation stealers (human all but their mind) and as the team gets more and more successful, they can introduce 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th generation stealers.
SPECIAL RULE
All Genestealer teams are made up of basic human linemen (1st generation players). When they win a game, after that game they may purchase 2nd generation players and so on. After they have won a 5th game without losing in this sequence, they may purchase 6th generation (pure blood) genestealers. However if they lose a game, their lair will be discovered and all 2nd generation and above stealers (outside of the team, famous Blood Bowl players won't be purged) will be eradicated and all recruits will be 1st generation again. Draws do not count either in moving along or ending the recruiting line.
Contagii 1st generation players: 6 3 3 8 G/SAP 50k
Maelignaci 2nd generation players 6 3 3 8 G/SAP Thick Skull(generally sees a hardening of the skin into a natural armour) 60k
Hybrid 3rd generation players 7 3 3 8 G/SAP Thick Skull (generally sees an elongation and improved muscle balance of the legs, increasing speed) 70k
True Hybrid 4th generation players 7 3 3 8 G/SAP Extra arms, Thick Skull (generally sees the growth and forming of 2 extra arms) 80k
Primacii 5th generation players 7 3 3 8 G/SAP Extra arms, Thick Skull, hypnotic gaze (generally sees the forming of a link to the hive mind giving telepathic powers) 100k
Purii 6th generation players 7 3 3 8 G/SAP Thick Skull, Extra Arms, hypnotic gaze, Claws (generally see the forming of claws on the newly grown extra arms) 130k
Fortunately for the planet (but not for humanity) very few species are suitable hosts, and in fact there are only 2. Both of which there are an abundance of (and far too many if you ask any other race). Humans make the perfect host. They are able to adapt and live in most conditions, are in abundance, have a lower class that is cared little of, and generally shows little sympathy for those outside of it's immediate circle. On top of this humans have a relatively weak mind and are easily controlled. Orcs also can make a host as such. However unlike humans they do not adapt or mutate easily. After the stage of 'Contagii' the Orcs sturdy and natural defences fight back and cleanse the body of the genestealer host.
SPECIAL RULE
Although Orcs do not make a good host, they can be suitable as a temporary one. Genestealer teams may hire Orc Contagii (Orc linemen) as Mercenaries or Journey Men. However these players can never be hired a permanent players of the team. They are only a temporary host and will cleans the body of all stealer genes after a short time.
