Man I love this game.
I've been playing Blood Bowl since the late '80's, and still have my second edition game. (That foam AstroGranite (tm) board rules.) The Dwarf Giants . . . the Underworld Creepers . . . the Darkside Cowboys . . . good times, good times.
Got into third edition and was amazed at how much more fun they made an already good game. Played in a league, loved it, have been keeping my eye open for another ever since (and even tried to organize one).
Then, a friend recommended this nifty little on-line version of the game, and . . . well, I just hope this doesn't cause my wife to divorce me. :-)
Personal Code of Conduct
I don't like fouling; I think it's a punk tactic that results in a less-fun game. To that end, I'm not going to foul my opponent . . . unless my opponent fouls me.
When playing Blood Bowl, I strongly believe in an eye for an eye. If an opponent drops the hammer on one of my guys, I'll look for a chance to return the favor, even if he didn't do any real damage. (And I consider the "But it's a tactical foul!" argument to be nonsense; a foul is a foul is a foul.) If my best opportunity for a payback foul doesn't occur until turn 8 of the second half, I'm not holding back.
Play a clean game against me, and I'll gladly return the favor. Even if your piling-on razor-clawed Beastman turns my star Ghoul into an blood smear. Even if your psycho Werewolves keep blasting my Gutter Runners into the stands. It's Blood Bowl; I've got nothing against teams that hit hard, just ones that hit 'em when they're down.
