Blood Bowl is the best game. The best way to play blood bowl is at tabletop tournaments, but as we get older and have a family it is hard to participate in them.
The next best is to play in your local league. Mine is Pennybridge Blood Bowl League - PEBBLE.
The third best is online. The problem online is the competition, a good game should be hard-fought and many more modern blood bowl games do not have the experience in the player base to make the games good. The best players I have found online are here at fumbbl and that's why I play here.
I play mostly black box as I think it is the fairest way to play on fumbbl. I play to win so I will stall and foul and buy extra inducements and do my very best to take the game from you. I will foul your best players. I expect nothing less from you. In the BlackBox I think the Blackbox Throphy is the best thing that could happen to the box. I have also just found Royal Rookie Rumble with is a great way to start a new team in the box (or in ranked if you have to). Lastly, I will try to participate in the online NAF tournaments as those always are good clean fun!
I will try not to complain about the dice, but I know that this is hard. Some games you will lose to the dice and then you can complain, a little. Sometimes you complain and feel like an ass when you don't loose...
My favorite online forum for bloodbowl is the Swedish Bloodbowl Alliance forum SweBBA.
