Started playing 2nd edition Blood Bowl about 10 years ago but only managed to play a few games. Once in graduate school, a friend reintroduced me (in spring of 2003) to the game and I found out about fumbbl and told my friend in return to join up. Now I have something to occupy all of my spare time.
It is possible that I am the first non-Euro coach to win Faction gold....
A Few Rules I often Play by
Note: Please read about playing style below too. I play differently depending on the division. Most of these rules below were from my ranked days.
1. I don't play teams that have two DPs. That means you like to use them. If you say you don't then you shouldn't have two. I also hesitate to play people with one. Fouling is part of the game. However, it's not usually part of my game if I can help it (see my fouling preference for a more detailed description).
2. The most fun I have in bloodbowl is developing my team. If your team develops by destroying other teams please look elsewhere. If you are bothered by this and live in the United States, most areas have a 211-helpline for people who are in distress. Please call this number and cry to them instead of whining to me of what Bloodbowl should be.
3. Try to have some fun while you play. Bad luck is frustrating for everyone. If you complain about certain plays, you generally encourage complaining from your opponent. I prefer to say things like crap and poop after a poor roll and also add some smily faces whenever I can.
4. Match reports are your friend. If you have fun against someone, write a match report. If someone was abusive, write a match report. I check opponent's match reports before I play them and undoubtedly can determine if the player is fun, a whiner, a fouler, abusive, etc.
5. My definition of cherry picking is offering a game that, if the situation were reversed, I would not offer or accept. Please don't try to convince me that if you think it is fair or would be fun that I will/should also.
6. I really do not like ranked as it promotes cherrypicking and a pecking order of some sorts (not for everyone I know, just too many people). I did not play ranked for about 18 months but I found it hard to find games so I decided to play it again with teams that were atypcial. Even that was a little lame, so I have gone a few years without a ranked game.
7) I hate Orc teams. I should probably play an Orc team because I hate them so much. Lame and overpowered at high TR. Every bad coach should learn to play Orcs and they will succeed.
8) I don't play teams that have played incredibly weak teams to boost TR/TS, even though they say, "the weaker team challenged me." If an invalid challenges you to a fight, you do not accept and expect people to take your coaching seriously.
A-List Coaches
These are coaches I have played at least five or more matches against and all matches have been enjoyable.
AcheronStyx: alas, he has little time to play as of late, but always was enjoyable to play and chat.
AFK_Eagle: THE skaven expert. He will let you know when he is being outlucked, and you can always expect a hard match...he does have a weakness to strip ball WDs though :p
Alcing Ragaholic: Long-time league compadre and someone who helped me see that fouling isn't personal among friends :-p
BadMrMojo: Truly class guy, nice, full of BB wisdom (and undoubtedly other types of wisdom too). Helped me in running the old MNF BB league.
bampf: Solid player and compatriot in NWL. Knows all about niggling his own HEs and one of the last holdouts known to man and Orc of refusing to play with a DP on his team (Edit: Recently joined the dark sides a few months before fellow Penn resident made the change).
BB-Pad: A-list tournament organizer. Genuine nice guy with great write-ups for tournies.
Bondo: Many battles across the WI-IL state line, generally with bashy teams.
BillBrasky: Just started playing against him and ALWAYS polite, bitch-free, and generally really funny. Plays chaos like I do--plenty of hurty skills but no DPs and plays the ball.
Caileanhawk: Although he is on BB-sabbatical right now, I have had many fun tourney matches with him. He always gets the shaft when it comes to luck (my view, not neccessarily his).
Candlejack: Plays for fun, takes on many challenges, and will capitalize on your mistakes.
Crik : The artist formerly known as criket. Played more friendly stunty matches vs him than any other coach. Truly a class A person and would never turn down a game from him, because he only offers fair matchups.
coco71: Gratiously served as my U division slug-mate and entertainer for many matches.
Dagda331: I will overlook his Minn. roots bc he is fun to play.
Da_Todfatha: The only person I will look for if I want to play against Orcs. Great Co-leader of the Northern Wastes League and luckily instilled with a conscience when playing my soft teams.
DsDmon: Fun mate from overseas. Always a great U match for fun ;-)
drthud: Despite his location in Chicago living with the FISHTABs (F*&$ing Illinois Sh!theads Towing A Boat) he remains a cool player.
EvolvetoAnarchism: More games logged against Evo than any other opponent across Dx, Ladder, Stunty, and U divisions and hopefully with many more to come. Great tactician, BB developer, and full of mayhem.
Falcone: Always friendly matches, nice chatting; used to be easier to beat before he played a lot of matches and now I am lucky to draw even with him.
GorTeX: Also on BB-sabbatical. Great MNF competitor.
Hickoryduff: Somehow, I always draw either his WEs or Zons in tourneys. It's never pretty. Yet he does not hate me. Or he is a good liar ;-)
hunter: RL friend and reliable sounding board for most of my BB ideas.
Johnny_Ryce: great pick up matches in L. He can't beat my woodies and I cant beat his Khemri with my Ogres. Great demeanor and fun to chat with too. Listens to all my whining :-P
Kenty: plays BB to play BB, not to feed his ego. Accepts ANY reasonable challenge and a few unreasonable ones too.
Lucky_Eddy: Always a good player and interesting conspiracy theorist as well. Will be even stronger now that he succumbed to the dark side and started using a DP.
Lurking_Grue: Gamestyle is in the mold of BIllBrasky but with less joking around. Still very fun and fair to play.
mwilli72: Funny guy and not so bad for being from the land of FISHTAB (PM me if you want to know the acronym; it's not family friendly). One of the few FUMBBLers I have met in RL. Nice to know that everyone you meet from an internet site is not a weirdo!!
Slartibart: the artist formally known as masterwizkid. Always played difficult teams in fourball, but never complained about losing.
mully: Solid tactician and renowned for bad luck at inopportune times and his ability to outcurse a sailor. Tournament dungeonmaster and a coachpage full of useful information.
pml97: Good coach. And I can't beat him in tournies!! (EDIT: OK, I can now and win his tournies as well).
prophane: Many games in U division in MNF and other tournies. Always positive in BB even when things are not going as planned.
screech: My New Yawk buddy. Accepts all my unreasonable challenges in U division and the old Ladder division.
Steelthunder: Great fun to play with and one of the best life attitudes I have heard in long time. Probably helps him be a great dad and firefighter as well.
th0r: The only successful Canadian in NWL (based on winning and longevity). For some reason he never complains about my good luck against him!
Tordenskjold: RL buddy who brought me back to BB on TT years ago and then played online for a bit too. He will psych you out.
vicius: One of my favorite non-NA coaches to play against and spec. Plays a lot of challenging teams and still succeeds. Good attitude too.

Fouling/Crowdpushing/Stalling Preference
This will vary based on the situation. In a tourney, everything goes. I will not beat your team to a pulp though if I have the game in-hand. If you want a definition of what I consider to be "in-hand" just ask me.
In ranked, I play to win, but will not use every method possible if we have evenly matched teams. That means I will not usually foul first, I often ignore "Get The Ref" altogether, and I will not go out of my way to crowdpush. I may stall if it is one turn from the half ending, or my team cannot take another beating on the line.
In unranked friendly matches, I am just looking to develop my team. I do not use any means necessary to win. I would rather have both of us have fun and to see if we would like to play each other again in the future.
There are exceptions to these guidelines (i.e., some teams are so weak they need to foul or crowdpush to have a shot; just ask me if you cannot figure out which of my teams may need to do this). One easy exception is that a crowdpush or fouling multiple times will alter how I play regardless of the division.
Do not Play List
edited out....after I cool down a bit.....nobody except the rude should be on a DNP anway (Its the same logic employed by Hannibal Lecter)
Skaven Expansion
With the recent of induction and success of the Clan Skyre into the stunty league, skaven clan leaders of the inner council noted an inordinate amount of attention devoted to discussing Bloodbowl both before and after council meetings as well as at other political events. The other major clans concluded that they too, needed to field teams to expand their own political connections. Some clans, such as Eshin, also recognized that they could use the pitch as a training ground for their young assassins, while those from Moulder saw it as an opportunity to perfect and train both their beasts and those who handle them. Thus, clans Eshin, Moulder, and Pestilens all began to train and field bloodbowl teams.
Adepts of the Horned Rat
The assassins of Clan Eshin are merciless murderers greatly feared amongst Skaven. Each candidate assassin must complete a number of training missions in order to advance in the order. Clan Eshin Assassins are very deadly, expert at infiltrating Clans, assassinating their opponents, planting evidence, and then escaping. Now young skaven adepts, training to earn the right to enter the clan have infiltrated the pitch of bloodbowl. Clan leaders were skeptical of the idea at first, but eventually they saw it as means to train the young adepts in the art of moving quickly, evading enemies, and inflicting pain on others.
Assassin Adepts
Assassin Adepts are the entry position for this training and are rather unskilled, but have been some skill in hand to hand combat.

Night Lord's Apprentice
The Nightlords are the legendary leaders of Clan Eshin and they are also known as Deatmasters. They are among the most leathal killers in the Warhammer World and are at the same time the most secretive and silent ones. One nightlord apprentice accompanies each team for training purposes.

Forfeit Guidelines
Maximum points for a forfeit win is 4 (minimum 0).
You can earn the 4 if: you were available to play before and after the deadline, contacted your opponent before halfway through the deadline, and notified the commissioner before the deadline that you were having difficulties BEFORE the last day of the deadline.
If you did not contact/respond to your opponent by halfway through the deadline a forfeit win is reduced by 1.
If you did not contact the division commissioner before the last day of the deadline a forfeit win is reduced by 1.
If the first time you scheduled your match was for the last day of deadline or later a forfeit win is reduced by 1.
If your schedule was at least in part responsible for not getting the match completed a forfeit win is reduced by 1.
The maximum amount for a forfeit loss is 0 (minimum -5).
Use all the above rules guidelines plus, if you failed to show up for a scheduled match you earn -1 points for a forfeit loss.
