From 2020: Originally started on FUMBBL in order to play league games against my sister and other friends to experiment with team builds for our tabletop league. However, after playing a lot of games against only a few people (the TT league disbanded), I wanted to try out my skills in some of the competitive divisions. I ended up choosing Black Box (due to this being pre-gamefinder and not ever having used IRC), so I built a few teams and quickly realized how fun it was to play there. I enjoyed Black Box because it forced me to play very good coaches and teams when my natural inclination would have been to avoid them. Because of that, I learned a lot quickly. However, the changes Christer made during the years I was away (roughly 2017-2020) have drastically improved things (as has the Box Trophy!). I have some typical Box bash teams, played a lot of Human and High Elf in the past, but I'm really enjoying Ogres and Snotlings these days. I built a few teams in Ranked for two main reasons: to take part in more tournaments (wait, what, you're telling me we have combined tournaments now???) and because finding games during my available times can be… difficult. Not that there's a lot of action on Gamefinder between 6:00 and 9:00 server time, but might as well try every matchup option!

So much has changed since I wrote that... I now work from home and have a much more flexible schedule. I like playing in Competitive, but have been getting much more into leagues lately (CIBBL, Nuffle League, NWBL, NCBB, NBFL, ChillAxe, SquadChaos, Classic Bowl, MGM).

Eh, I can play a lot more regularly in this COVID-19 world, but west coast NA time is still a struggle. Luckily the slowest time on FUMBBL is when I'm eating dinner and hanging with my kids, so that's nice!

Mon-Fri 18:00-22:00 (on Thursdays I am additionally free to play from 18:00 - 2:00)
Any day 6:00-9:00
Weekends: if I schedule in advance, the family will usually let me play a game or two ;)

I am particularly partial to playing in the Box and will choose to play there over Competitive if given the choice, since my favorite teams and groups are in Black Box. I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Human League Premiership (probably my favorite group on FUMBBL), running Black Box Sprints (especially with my High Elves way back when), ARR! (OGARRS!), and now that those groups are dead, the Box Trophy and Throne of Blood. I am looking forward to playing more tournaments now that I can play during Euro evenings!
