Last turn blocks
I believe most coaches would agree with me that even if the last turn blocks will not affect the game, they would still make them. a Coach I recently played started saying it was unsportsmanlike conduct for me to block on the last turn of the game since it doesn't affect the game. At this point I also ad only 1 cas so I was trying to get the second one for an FF plus.

This just somehow really annoyed me.

It's not like I fouled on turn 16, I can see why someone would whine about that, but seriously, it's only pixels.

I think this was a clear sign that they wanted to be fouled.

Yes, it is only pixels. Why are you so obsessed with the remote chance that you might add +1 to your FF roll (which increased without the +1), or that you might get another 2 SPPs? During that match, I'd already lost a player (-1 Ag on a GR, he is feckless and will be replaced as soon as I can afford it). Why block the other GR just on the off chance that you'll get a casualty? Nevermind that half off all casualties will be very bad for me in this case. Why is your extra +1/2 SPPs so important that you want to try to wreck my team?

I don't get it. I'm not saying take it easy during the match. I don't mind the one GR that was injuried. He was lost in the heat of the play, and that's just the way it goes.

Also, had this been a league match, where my win/loss record affects your standings, then yes, block away. Foul away on turn 16, even. But this was just a pick-up game.

I'm just saying, don't be a sore winner. Be civil. This is just a game, and we are all here to have fun and enjoy each others company.

To make the situation worse, though, you took this block after I passed on my last turn. That's right. I looked at the board and saw that I couldn't score, and I couldn't really stop you from scoring. The score was already 2-1 in your favor. So I did not block on my last turn. Instead of making your last turn complicated, or running the risk of injury to either team in a position that I think you would've still scored, I just let it go. I took a knee. I bowed out gracefully.

I did not block on my last turn, and yet you still did. And no, you didn't accomplish anything on that last block, because you rolled double skulls. That's right, you didn't even get the 3 SPPs. I just don't get it.

I was trying to be polite and you threw it in my face.

To Vol below: Suck it up mate... blocking gains you SPP's, every coaches right and desire. Be it for the 2nd cas for a +FF or a skill gain or even just to get 2spp closer to a skill. What you're saying in game and below is ridiculous.

To Spyrer, I too would be annoyed as you are.

SPPS!

SPPS!

and amusing deaths.

Vol, that's taking it a bit too far. It's very civil of you not to block during your last turn, but you really can't expect that kind of behavior in return. Blockings gives SPP's, this game is about developing your players. It's a given that people are going to block when they can.

Being a somewhat nice guy I can see myself not blocking in the last turn if I have absolutely shredded the other team with the help of the dices, but that would have to be extremly severe cas counts, not just a crippled gutter runner.

To All:
Se? Thats what happens when you don't foul in T16. Then people start whinin' about beeing blocked in turn 16 instead.

To Vol:
He was not a sore winner... You are the sore loser. Im just sad he didn't foul in T16, so you could have been princess enough to bring it to the forums for a true flamewar.

What are you complaining about, If I cant get to the ball carrier or have no chance of scoring in the last turn I will throw as many blocks as I possible can and get a blitz in just for the off chance of getting 2 extra SPP.

Its got nothing to do with trying to hurt the opposistions team, its about developing your own team and every SPP I can get counts, Stop complaining and get into the spirit of the game mate, Its blood bowl..... Not il be polite this turn bowl

Vol dont be stupid, the arguememt "its the last turn" is subjective completely and the next coach along the line might suddenly say:

"Well its I am 2-0 up with 2 turns left why are you bothering to score as the result is decided"

"Why are you passing the ball your player is 20 SPP's from its next skill"

etc etc

My point being that just because the majority of coaches play a full 16 turns a side does not mean that they have to surrender their legitimate game time to that minority that expect other coaches to comply with their own wishes whenever it is convenient!!!

I block as much as I can in the last turn, and often I doubleskull just before I was gonna score. Greed destroys sometimes.

Apart from this I'm pretty sure it is Shadow's fault all of it...

This really takes the biscuit. The game is bloodbowl, the game is played over 16 turns. If you choose not to block your opponents players thats your choice. Don't moan about it if someone chooses to block your players, its part of the game.

If you don't like it go and take up knitting or flower arranging or some other hobby thats calming and relaxing.

Sheesh, whats next, people moaning about a turn 16 score or a turn 16 pass for 1 SPP.

GET A LIFE!!!!

I would gangfoul him for that. He's deserved none less.

Fine, I get it.

I'm looking for a fun, challenging, may-the-best-man-win game, with comradery and an inviting social atmosphere with friendly people.

I am sorry you didn't get your 3 SPPs for your touchdown.

Vol i think the real problem here is that you expect evryone to act the same way you do. If you chose to not block in the final turn then thats fair enough... crazy in my opinion... but fair enough if thats how you want it.
Whats not fair is to think that just because you have a certain opinion that your opponent should follow it too.
How would you feel if you played me for example and i started having a real go at you because you chose NOT to foul on the final turn when in my opinion its important to do so? Would you think it was fair for me to berate you for not sharing the same opinions as me?
Someone can do things different to you without meaning that they arn't friendly or that they've destroyed the social atmosphere.

Who cares what other coaches may think? It's your team, and you play them how you like.

Unsportsmanlike conduct? This isn't snooker or curling. This is BLOOD BOWL!

I'm not following the logic there, Paul. I'm not saying he is a bad guy because he has a religion and I don't, for example. I'm just saying the game wasn't as friendly. And with all of this, it has turn down right un-friendly.
