Freaking BB kidz
Hi guys. I'm just bored to have my team ''locked'' to a scheduled Blackbox match, while some freaking guys that join, they were scheduled, and log out after 20 minutes of waiting.
Ok i can understand problems, and all of that kind of things that happens at last minute, sometimes it happen to me too, but just send a PM cause it's not so difficult and it takes 30 seconds.

So PLEASE, don't join if you aren't sure to play one match, that take at least 1 h, because i would play my matches, and i don't want my team locked for days, and at the end, break balls to admin to close that match, while the other player seems dead.

Sorry for bad english, hope that someone think the same.

Bye bye

I presume all this happened after you sent him a pm explaining how blackbox works, what he needs to do, how he needs to do that (as he is totally new), and gave him a link to the 'how to get a game in blackbox' guide?

The fact the never turned up couldn't possibly have been connected to that he most likely didn't know what to do and eventually gave up and went off line.........right?

I just tell him that im waiting for him in game. First pm.
Second pm that would be better if he does not join if he cant play.

For all of things u wrote, there are lot of guide, for how to play, just dont click ''activate'' and dont know what to do.

Im here if he had question, but if he does not reply to my PM, how can i imagine that he does not know how to play, or he's just bored and log out?

Just reply with a PM asking me what to do, i will certanily explain, but if he didnt i presume that he does not want to play.

From your bio - @: My apologizes if i didn't reply; maybe i'm doing other things while i am online!

Maybe he was doing other things as well and forgot that he activated? Happens to everyone at some point.

Whiney blog is not the way to go on this :P

You're right, but if i am playing on fumbbl i always give a look.
That words in my bio, were wrote for the old GF, where u cant get a match ''directly'', but u have to ask to coach (While not using chat).

And send a pm explaining why u havent joined it's not difficult.

Yeah its not difficult, but if he has forgotten how is he supposed to send a PM?

We all want to enjoy the site and our time here.

If you want to use the site and play games then you have a responsibility to pay attention to what you are doing so as not to waste other peoples time.

"I'm a noob and don't know what I'm doing" is a poor excuse

Not only does it waste peoples time, it creates more work for the admins.

In a lot of cases the offender does not even reply to the PM with an apology.

Maybe i'm wrong, but im thinking that ''forget'' to trying to have a match (then put teams on BB) is difficult.

Seriously dude, it happens.

After 10 minutes you can get an admin to unschedule the game.

Yes, people forget that they activated. The world is big and other stuff happens.

I know that u can tell to admin to close that game (harvestmouse close lot of mine), but i'd like to play scheduled match, because i never ''miss'' one of mine, so i hope the same for other players, it's just a (little) waste of time!

A few points:

1. It's true Corso00 hasn't missed a game. That is something to admire.
2. Newish players missing games can't be excused, but a totally new player is totally different. Think back to your first ever game? Did you jump straight in? I was a lurker here for over a year before I joined and had read everything (I had a dodgy connection so didn't join for a while) and even still without the help of my first opponent I wouldn't have known what to do. And before that I had a pm for a game I never saw or realised I had.
3. All no shows that are reported (bar totally new players) are logged and coaches find that catches up with them if they no show a few times.

Yeah i know that been ''rookie'' it's very difficult, luckly i have some real friends in this site, so they explain me how to do all of things for my first matches.

Maybe i'm just wrong, nothing else!

It's happened to me, before I had set my irc client to auto-join the blackbox channel on login.

Put teams on lfg, then activate box, then something bites, start the game, forget to deactivate.

or

Activate box, alt-tab for a planned 5 minutes, read an interesting article or smth, then startle when you get the PM 'where are you?'

this is EPIC

fumbbl rule #1 - be polite and try not to be a dick
Posted by Mr_Foulscumm on 2013-03-07 17:06:56
pythrr are you sure that's the rule? Because a lot of the time it seems to be the opposite. :(
Posted by pythrr on 2013-03-07 17:11:47
oh, i did not say people FOLLOW the rule - just that it is there. ;)
Posted by harvestmouse on 2013-03-07 18:23:20
If you activate in box, you should not be looking for a game in any other division. You miss a match for that reason and you'll have your account locked and it added to your bio.

If that happens a second time, the match will be instantly conceded against you.

A 3rd, you'll serve a ban.
