You can raise players that died last turn... you realy can, even if they dodge of GFI
My first bug discovery and it was a wierd one I must admit.

The ting was that I've started this undead team, Vandaud Rørsla for Massegrav (translating into something like the unquiet dead's political movement for massgraves). Anyho I played this human team in this match. And the wierdes thing happend, at the very very last turn he dodges, trips and die. :O
As an undead player I'm alowed to raise the dead, so this box pops up and I ofcourse klick "yes", you can never have too many zombies. But when I go and check out the team after the match, he was nowhere to be seen. Argh...

So I call up the admin chat chanel and state my purpose. And is told to post a ticket, I do and get a reply fiew second later. It say that I cant raise players unless I kill them myself... This was bolloks. I check and duble check the rulebooks and go back into the admin chanel. Saying hey, the rules only say a player that is killed, not a player that I killed. And the reason I don't get it in my team was that the game was ended as the player fell, and thus was over when I tried to raise him. I sorta get it aproved, but just to be shure, I do a test on a stand alone game (or several games), testing if a player that die as a dodge can be raised. After playing a fiew games I get this result.

See the box pops up, and in the log it say he failed a dodge.

And woopsidasy, he's in the undead dugout.

Edit:
I got a reply for the main man, Christer. saying that I'm right but that fumbbl wont do anything about it.

"Hi,

After verifying the result file that was sent to the site, I conclude that the bug lies in the JavaBBowl client and not the site. Our standard policy with these types of bugs is to leave it as-is. Unfortunately, this means that you will not get a zombie for your team.

I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause for you and your team."
Now the question is. Do I leave it as-it?

If the problem lies with the client, then the problem lies with SkiJunkie. Im not even sure he even works on this cilent anymore, so i would say leave it.

Don't think there's much you can do I'm afraid. On the plus side, its only a zombie!

Of course you don't!
After all this team is inclined to be a political movement ^^
You wait till you can really raise one and err... BUY a player with the name in question.. that way it is kind of a massgrave aye?

It's not the lost zombie that bother me, zombies are cheep as cheep comes. But the princible that I lose a player (and vote for the movement) becouse of someone elses error... And most likely I won't make muck more fuzz about it, after all it's better to work on the lrb5 version of the game, than fix a bug that happens once every century. But I'll always argue that right is right and shoud be so even when bugs happen.

The plan is to buy a player named after the lost zombie.

I think you should make a thread about this as well... oh, wait...
Posted by pythrr on 2009-11-04 01:14:01
A more important Q is who the hell sets up like that in T16?
Posted by adambomb on 2009-11-04 06:00:03
pythrr you is teh faelsawce...if you'd read the blog/thread you'd know that the OP started a stand-alone game to replicate the bug and that is where the screenshots are from. and it was turn 4

Well, it might be "someone else's error" but since you don't pay anything for it, I guess you have to take it as it is...

If this was a paying service, you'd be right, though...

Yeah - I woudld say leave it unless you can code a new client with the bug fixed!
Posted by Wreckage on 2009-11-04 18:57:07
Dude, I feel like you miss one important point. The client is full of small unimportant errors like that. It's no mercy of you if you don't make a fuzz. If the client says you are not inclined to a zombie, you are not inclined to a zombie. End of debate :p.

u are a bad bad man wreckage

You should notify whoever does the client (if anyone still does) but you're not going to get any recompense.
..might be worth mentioning to the LRB5 client people but I doubt they have the same issue.
