Anuphaton, one of Settra's High Wizards, tried to decipher the secrets of the Black Pyramid, but accidentally triggered a plague of Dust Goblins throughout Nehekhara. These dust goblins have tried to join the Khemri Premier League, and the league has voted to allow them, eager at the prospect of bashing these stunties in.
Things are not going as planned, however. The Dust Goblins seems to have difficulties understanding the maximum number of players on the field, and the referees have trouble counting the diminutive creatures.
Anuphaton has also decreed a prize to whomever can kill and maim the most dust goblins by the end of the season, hoping that this bounty helps eradicate this endless plague.
Other teams have begun using dust goblins themselves to get an extra-man advantage, including the Rasetra Bonelords, who will attempt to use the Dust Goblins as projectiles thrown by their Krok-Ras. Other coaches disagree with the Bonelord's strategy, believing that the best place for these goblins is as foulers, reckoning that their life expectancy is short anyways.
Certain factions within the KPL Rules Committee, seeing the effect that the Dust Goblins have had on the game, are now seeking to reverse the prior decision, and ban goblins again, decrying that the purity of the Khemri Premier League has been tainted by stunty teams. They claim to be monitoring the situation carefully, but the lone no vote on allowing the goblins in, Ho-Kapek, states that the KPL Rules Committee has been incredibly lax as of late, and has announced his intention to run for KPL President next season.
