1st year in FUMBBL
Today a year ago I found again my long lost love. I was searching the net, trying to find a site where playing Blood Bowl online would be possible. I hadn't played BB in years, I think actively last time was in the late 80's/ early 90's. 2nd edition of the game was just published and it was the hottest thing around. As years went by, there was always something missing. I even tried 90's PC version of Blood Bowl, but time hasn't been that gentle to it. Then I found FUMBBL and BB again, not the way I left it though, it had evolved.

There are things that were better in 2nd edition, certain feeling that seems to be lost now, but there's a ton of things that have made the game much more playable. I've only eyed through LRB5.0/6.0, and it seems it'll take BB towards 2nd/3rd edition in some ways, making games more random, maybe even more enjoyable than now. Looking forward to regen for wolves, got to hate what they've done for Ogres though.

I've now played 575 games since I joined the community. There have been ups and downs, but most times just pure fun. I've always been above average on strategic games, but here I've been outplayed several times by a lot more experienced coaches. There's still lot to learn and archieve and I'm really looking forward to get one of my teams to a level where I can enter in a major with it.

I'm big fan of league gaming, the continuation and development of a team in a closed enviroment has always fascinated me. OCCS with it's several different cups has been really enjoyable too. Maybe because of it's lack of star players, it's more about the team itself, not just star vs star fight. At least in lower ranks, some teams seem really overpowered with a cheap star.

So far I've been playing mostly with higher AV teams as my earlier experiences with lower AV always ended up with my teams destruction. Recently I started a few different elf teams, just to give me more experience and also to learn how to defend against them.

For the next year I hope I'll learn to be a better player and even more, learn how to take a beating the right way =)

Thank you for the Maker who makes this all possible and thank you for the surprisingly mature community (prior experiences with internet communities have been far less pleasant =). Cu in the BB field.

hey there, congrats mate.

almost same story as mine, except for the fact that i'm 4 month and about 200 games behind and am still sticking to high-av-teams even more ;)

also, I've started to love L after the first 50 or so games, but grew fond of B most recently :-)

happy 2009!
