Chocolate Cake Recipe (with slight edit) from

'Ingredients: 8oz = 226.796, tsp = teaspoon, small amount, tbsp = tablespoon or heaped regular spoon.
* 8oz self-raising flour
* 3tbsp cocoa ( I use a bit more than this, more like 5)
* 2tsp baking powder ( i use about 1.5tsp of bicarbionate of soda)
* 8oz margarine (butter is also fine)
* 8oz caster sugar
* 4 eggs, beaten
* 10tbsp milk (i use quite a bit less, it depends on what consistency you have before adding the milk, it wants to end up resembling enough of a liquid that it settles to an even layer when put in the tins)
Method:
Sieve (dont bother, it doesnt change the mixture enough to make it worth the time sieving) the first three ingredients into a bowl (mix them up), then add the margarine, caster sugar (mix again) and beaten eggs, and beat until combined, then add the milk to get the right consistency.
Tip into two well-greased 8” round baking tins, and bake at 160 degrees C for about 50 minutes. (this is bs however, for my oven at least its more like gas mark 4 (it dont do 3) for about 25 minutes)
Test with a skewer – when it comes out of the cake clean, the cake is done.
Cool on a wire rack, and finish with chocolate buttercream or ganache.'
For the butter cream / ganache it is up to your taste but so far my best has been: 100ml of double cream, add a little icing sugar to thicken, then add caster sugar and either cocoa or some posh hot chocolate, the 'aero orange' is awesome. Stick loads of jam in the middle and the ganache/butter cream on top. Butter icing is less awesome but more easy, add icing sugar to butter or margerine until its nice. stick a knife in hot water and stir with that if your mizture is too stiff.
Some people wonder why im so overweight, I don't.
