Stick with it mate.
Good luck & have fun!

Don't give up yet. At least give League a try. Club145 is a good place to start.

Some points, and I'll add it to both blogs.
1. FUMBBL's official standpoint is that blackbox is this is not a division for new players. The first line in the help section states 'A division of random fair matches where you play what you get. It is a highly competitive division that is not for the faint of heart.' if you listened to the blackbox crowd and played there, you made your own bed.
2. Show me an online gaming site where you don't overly competitive (insert bad word) who don't try to game the system. There isn't one.
3. Yes coaches like this are a problem. The problem is with how the rules handle perpetual leagues (not very well). FUMBBL did not and has not invented the rules, and without just cause (as it opens a nasty door) does not want to add house rules (that don't affect only gaming only). Personally if I had the choice, I'd just remove them from the site, but they aren't breaking rules so......
4. You have a good thing going in 145 club, and blackbox on the whole hasn't been bad too you. At this stage, you should be able to weigh up what is good and what is bad about the site and make your own decisions on where and how to play to enjoy the game.
5. If you don't like something vote with your feet. Christer listens to stats. However blackbox remains popular compared to ranked or league. So generally this means the division is healthy.
Conclusion; I appreciate your frustration, it frustrates me as much or more, especially when it costs the site coaches. But blogging that it's the site's fault for one bad match, is shedding the blame somewhat. If you heeded the help sections advice, you'd have stayed away from the division.

Hi Sharpe58
Stick with it!! That is my advice. I have been where you are.
Harvestmouse is right. Steer clear of Blackbox (for now). Find a league that you enjoy to play in. I know you are in 145 club which is great. Did me the world of good, thanks to Koadah.
There are good leagues out there and you develop a good relationship with the people you play against.

I know losing can suck, We all face it. Don't let a couple of bad games make you leave the site. Some coaches just play like that. I haven't been on here very long but I have met some really nice people. People like Synn, Chainsaw, Elliot_the_Lame, and the_sage. Really nice and always willing to lend some advice. Give it another chance Trust me.

Don't stop believing... Hold on to the feeling...
(sorry)
I do hope you don't leave mate. As well as trying out ranked, where you can avoid min/max teams (they hurt!), try out an Orc team. They have a bit more mobility than Dwarves and are considered good for learning the important stuff.

Sharpe58, i don't get you. I really can't share your view of this game. The most coaches I met in this game are friendly, willing to help and are patient. If they see you are a rookie they are giving help! The people are sharing their time with you and in return the want to have great games. And the greatest games are tight games versus an equal opponent. Outdicing an opponent is nice, but it loose the charme after third/fourth time, because you will find out that this isn't very thrilling experiance anymore. Everyone has already lost games, because of bad own dices or great dices of the opponent. Make your peace with it, well it is a game and the dice (means luck) are a component of it. Please have look at my winratio, it's a lousy one, but i know why! I have less expereance than the most good players and I take to much risks. Just follow the advises already given, don't take blackbox and please don't wine with a Chaos-"Whatever"-Team, because it has a "build in" CPOMB-possibilty. My final adivse for you would be, take you time and watch some games of others players. You will learn a lot.
Regards.

When you create a new team the default division is Black Box.
As there is currently no Academy now about making the default Ranked or League or having no default.
Black Box is second on the list after the suspended Academy division. How about moving it down the list.
"This division is not for newcomers to the game." How about making this warning bold. Or even bold, red. ;)
How about hiding the Academy description until the division is available again.

What is the American counterpart of the SWL? Those are awesome leagues for new/old/any player if you can match the commitment required (one game a week, every week). You will get a blend of opponent skill, and several good coaches will give you advice so you can upset their rivals. Please stay, just like other people have made your experience fun, most coaches add to the playing experience of the rest of us too.

I think you are "on tilt" hehe.
Take a break, remember the good time you had and nice coachs you played against (like EndZone apparently, don't let his effort to make you better wasted) and come back in a better mood !

look my match records and you will change your mind...

SWL of the US is NWL, but it's not as strong communitywise. It's diluted a little with lot's of American Football inspired leagues. I'm not an expert on any of them, but I think they're all pretty well run and worth investing time in. Maybe ask around to see which are the most popular.
I know the Canadian League is also very good, not sure if they let those south of the border in though.
Koadah make's a good point, maybe make ranked the default team. Also to make the 'This division is not for newcomers to the game.' part on making a box team in bold, as clearly a lot of new coaches do not read anything but the obvious.
In this situation it wouldn't have helped though. It's already been pointed out that box is a harsh place, and it wasn't his first team that pushed him over the edge.

I am with koadah here. Create a league team and join the 145 club. You'll meet a lot of noobs, less skilled or just relaxed coaches there and - in my limited experience - a lot of friendly ones too. koadah keeps a close eye on who is admitted and who not. You won't find Aholes there who enjoy tearing newbie teams apart.
And, most important, competing in a league can be both thrilling and big fun.
Don't leave fumbbl! Just turn away from blackbox, at least until you are strong enough to pay the few bad coaches back in your own currency.
Posted by Deniz87 on 2013-06-13 12:31:59
unfortunately,it seems that there are many rookie coaches (who are really ROOKIE) but they're not aware of the 145 club.
Really sad.
Next time,I'll contact them so they could join the rookie league.

Create a [S] team, train it for the next major, win it and become a legend in Stunty. That's nothing better, mate.

The 145 league really should be championed much more by the site, basically replacing academy and being the default for new teams. Koadah is really awesome!

+1 for 145. Koadah needs more love!

It's unfortunate that you drew fumbbl's black sheep.
No coach with self-worth would snipe newbs like he does.
But.. We must all not judge lest be judged, or some such non-sense.
I just imagine that that coach was tortured by his mom & forced to do nasty things with her, and this is his way to not go mass murder people.
So I don't mind playing vs him, though he is super slow.
Other than him, BlackBox is a super fun division.
See you on the pitch!

Dont give up !!!!!! Play ranked and choose opponent.
