honestly, people have some crazy ideas...

In my country, at least, we have the (theoretically) protected right to free speech, press, AND assembly

Which means you are (or should be) free to say what you want, and to print it, but by extension, everyone else is free not to repeat it, or, if it's their publication (or website), publish it. Which means, if someone is keeping you from saying what you want on their website, find another way to say it and/or get your own website.

On the opposite end, the idea that one can or should be arrested for openly voicing their views (no matter how reprehensible, incorrect, or offensive) is horrifying to me. If someone can be arrested for saying they want to kill black people and eat babies, they can be arrested for telling racist or "dead baby" jokes. If they can be arrested for that, they can be arrested for voicing thier positive or negative opinions on issues such as Affirmative Action and abortions. If they can be arrested for that, they can be arrested for saying they like Black people or for voicing their support of a particular religion.

And personally, I'd hate to see PeteW get arrested for trying to tell people why he likes Christianity.

Now, there's a difference between saying something and disturbing the peace by blaring it on speakers, and a difference between a public area and someone's home or business; but nobody should be oppressed for the content of their message, only regulated in the delivery and location.
