Mutterings on League Management
Running league can be very rewarding, you can shape them how you like, make rules to go along with them as you like. But sometimes there's always something that gets in the way, a commissioners work is never done and most deeds by them go unnoticed. But most of the time your running of a league is well received by the coaches participating, and that is why I do it, not to boss people around or to rule like a dictator, and certainly not for any money . It's the delight in giving coaches a rich environment to make their playing experience the best they will ever have, and it is in that satisfaction I continue to run a league and have done so for almost 9 years. So while you play spare a thought for your commisinor, let them know how you feel about the league you participate in, a small comment goes along way.

<3 The commish!

I still get WIL nightmares. A thankless yet vital job. ;)

This is exactly true. The nightmares of coaches dropping out mid-season, trying to find replacements, dealing with various complaints (both justified and unjustified); it's amazing how they are all forgotten when someone says how much they are enjoying the league!

So tempted to rate this a 1.... ;-)

Having a run a league on *cough* Cyanide *cough* for a year or two, I agree completely. And would never ever do it again.

People who run leagues are egocentric little dictators.

@Whatball... I prefer to think of myself as a Dictator that operates under a facade of Comminism ;)

Meanwhile we all think of Jeffro as a Dick under a shower of C.....

Can't really make that joke here ;)

God I hate commissioners with their constant fawning and attention seeking. Always crying out "Look at me, see what I have done for your enjoyment". Seriously, get a life you sycophantic jackanapes!!

Pgoo and Jeffro are the worst of them all! >:(

One for the pains of being a commish. I had two chaps to play a game in the league and they played it at home. No problem, I had my doubts but I let them carry on nonetheless. Well this match report (I still have it...Somewhere) was a sight to see! 16 Completions a 4-5 scoreline, 8 CAS (no deaths, MNG, NI or -stats) and a tons of skills. This may of been the case and could of been legit, but given the history of the pair it was not to be trusted at all. Needless to say I made them replay the match at the club. And that's why I never let people play league matches at home any more.
