I would recommend jumping in and making a test league to figure out the inner workings first. If it's a simple league format, then the Help section might help, but there's a lot of more complex stuff you can try as well. For more complex stuff, you will need to be more detailed in the question and that will help.

Also, you might join an existing league and help out there too - I see you are in the Americas, so SLA might interest you:

Another important thing with leagues (imo) is that you will want to make them unique to other leagues to attract coaches, and well run if you want them to last.
