So I used my Fumbbl Dice ...
Tonight played my first Tabletop game in quite some time which was the first official use of the Fumbbl Dice. My block dice seem to be perfectly average but my D6's led to far too many ones, obviously they're defective.

Couple things I noticed about the dice.

1) The painted colors are great. Very easy to read as compared to most of the NAF dice (or 3rd party alternatives).

2) My opponent just couldn't figure out the Pow/Push (is it called Defender Stumbles?) early in the game. It never really occurred to me to explain the Fumbbl dice but I guess they're slightly non-standard from an icon perspective. I guess I've played too many games here where it's just second nature.

3) The D16 isn't necessary but for Thrown Rocks (which we had) and MVP's it's nice. Also since it doesn't stop rolling very quickly so it adds drama, ala a Price is Right wheel spin (or Press Your Luck ... no whammy!)

4) I don't think I'll play with the D6's much any more. Not because they're defective (obviously) but because I don't want to condition myself to connect Fumbbl with a negative experience (rolling 1's!). No sense in Clockwork Oranging my favorite site on the interwebs.

The block dice are for sure my new Block Dice set (except where a tournament demands I use new NAF dice or what-not). I'm really glad I got in on that Kickstarter. Thanks again for doing it as I'm sure it was a huge pain in the ass.

So, how did you do in the tournament?

It was just a Leeg night. Taught a newbie how to play and then lost my first match as Slann to rookie High Elves. 1 RIP, 1 MNG, 3 BH, 2 KO's. Not a good night for AV8 considering we were pretty even on blocks. Surprisingly the Catchers never missed an Armor roll.

I'm looking forward to using my Fummbl dice at some point :) I have friends ready to play (at some point) but I need a team, I just can't decide. I wanted undead but the models are terrible. I need to do some research find some non-GW models and play even if I have to buy miniature footballs and do conversions damn it! :)

Those injury rolls really annihilated you. I hope you do better next time :)

seemed like proper fumbbl dice to me!

I Love the fimbbl dice as well, they were designed perfectly IMO as I prefer the sharper corners to the more rounded ones. I Love my FUMBBL block dice and use them every chance I get. Although I do use other D6s as I acquired some Casino D6's from Las Vegas when I was there for my wedding, and they have a better average roll (percieved).

You played fine, but my early CSs against you were just too much. The fumbbl dice weren't too difficult to translate, just took me a second to translate, I do like the sharp corner aspect. I play fast IRL and hate waiting for dice (I'm used to a timer). Your armor rolls were junk for the most part, and that decided the game ultimately. Technically, you were quite sound. I underestimated Slann. I won't again. ;) I predict you win more games than you lose with that team. I had issues seeing blocks last night for whatever reason.

Ok so it is confirmed.

Behind the scenes Christer has two d6 monkies, litterally monkies in a cage, rolling D6 all day long. So it is a true RNG.

Since the monkies love to roll 1's, it gives them a deep pleasure in a monkey kind of way, we can now all experience that on table top.

So now we know the back story on the D6 and why they seem to average a 1.4 every 5 rolls of the die.

Is the pow/push a different symbol from the "standard" BB pow/push? I haven't played TT since, like, 1998, but I don't recall it being that different.

Yeah, it is different, on the official dice it's a POW with an exclamation mark inside it.
