Threats of violence from peace loving wood elves…

I’m not a particularly violent BB player. If you check out my stats you will see I have never committed a foul! So why did I just pick the dirty player skill for one of my wood elves? Recently I’ve found that the threat of violence is far more scary then the actual act.

In my last game my opponent set himself up to get crowd pushed twice early on and I decided not to take advantage of either mistake since he was behind on both players and points. Later when he tried to push one of my players into the crowd he fell flat on his face. This put me in a good position because it made it obvious that if I got a chance to return the favor I would surely try. As his team neared my end zone in the middle of the second half he set up in order to stall for a draw. At the other end of the pitch my linemen had already surrounding his thrower near the sidelines and that was enough threat to make him think twice about stalling. The amazing thing was that I didn’t even have to verbally make a threat. He felt that I wanted revenge and knew he was in a bad spot and that was all it took.

When my much abused linewoman “Nakedlilly” finally got her first skill up I decided to choose dirty player as her first skill. In past games she has had her neck broken and eyes gouged out making her good for little more than bloody acts of violence. She is looking forward to a rematch and I’m looking forward to seeing if her subtle threat of violence will be useful in discouraging my opponent from fouling and stalling.
