If it can go wrong...
Every Blood Bowl player has "one of those days". Days where everything that can go wrong, usually does.

Heres an image for you: The ball is in your half, only a square from your Wood Elf thrower. Your opponent's team is being held up in the middle by your lineman. Wide open, in a scoring position, is your star catcher. And its your turn.

You move to pick up the ball. Ag4, unoccupied square, you need to roll a two. Naturally, a one comes up. Turn End. Your opponents team moves a bit, throwing some blocks but you are still in a scoring position. Your turn again. Go for the ball. Pick it up. Hooray!

Now you run forward to get into a better throwing position. Ag4, quick pass. Roll a two. Success. Now to catch. With a catch re roll. And yes, you guessed it, you roll 2 ones. All of a sudden your opponent tears your team apart, picks up the ball with Ag2, successfully passes and scores!

This image is well known to all BB players, not just those with Elves with cocktail sausages for fingers. It's just one of those things; you can be riding high with your team, and then all of a sudden, Lady Luck punches you in the nadgers and goes off to whisper sweet nothings in the ear of your opponent.

As infuriating as this can be, it's all part of the game. Indeed, its the same with real sport! You can have the best team on paper, but when it comes to the day, everything goes wrong (see Manchester United vs Southend United). A wise military person from history once said "the best laid plan does not survive contact with the enemy" and i believe this to be true of BB. You can plan all you want, but if your star gutter runner goes down, then what? BB is a game of being able to adapt to new situations constantly to get the better of your opponent.

...I wish i was better at adapting..

I feel your pain. I swear the RNG has its own personal hate on for me...though I have no idea what I ever did to it (besides curse at it many, many times).
