Nice one, I might just take my box dark elfs as my first team ever to 50 games someday soon :P
Have you used assassins for a lot of games?

Thanks Overhamstern,
I have got to try Assasins a couple of times, but they have not lived for very long. Many of them have died in their first games.
My point with Assassins is to play them like an expensive Linemen. I think I have fallen earlier still too often to the trap of overusing Stab. That leaves the Assasin into contact, which means a lot of attrition to them as they start with no defensive skills.
I hope that in future my Assassins will live to play more games with more Dark Elvish (cowardly?) tactic of standing them back to face opponents offshooting catchers with overpower, at least until they gather skills. Lets see how that will work.
Ize Ize Babys look a tough bunch! I hope to face them soon on the pitch!

I'm on track to build a similar pro elf team. How significant do you think the particular race is? Does playing dark elves as opposed to one of the other three significantly ease your ability to stay at a constant high tv?

I really enjoy playing my box dark elves. Sadly they took a big blow in their last BBB match so some rebuilding is in order.

Wow, full positionals even... Gratz on that.
I'd like to learn to play elves in the box. I think I'd still go dark or high elves. There's a lot of matches where no more than a few players will have both claw and tackle, and AV8 helps a LOT imo.
You're right that assassins should just act as linos, making 2 die blocks vs opponents without block and such, only using stab against blodgers (who tend not to be AV9 anyway).
Team rating development is a relic and doesn't display the info you're suggesting. Unlesss I'm reading your match list wrong, your average TV in the last 10 games was 1827k:

Though, to be fair, 5 of those 10 were against clawpomb (2/1/2) and you spent the 7 games before that 196-228 TV, facing 6 chaos and 1 nurgle (3-1-3). This suggests to me that while not 'beating clawpomb', you're at least drawing even against it.
Gratz on that!

Thanks Oryx,
I suppose Dark Elves strength in staying high TV is that they have 6 good players, which start with Block or Dodge. This means that its easier to convert treasury to pitch-power than with some other teams.
My general strategy is somewhat conservative and perhaps noobish. I take defensive skills of Dodge, Block, Fend and Side Step and all doubles go to Guard. This makes players to last more games and also makes them better playing with. Dark Elves suit well in this way of playing with their positionals. Wood Elves may also be good, although they have some ST2.
The other strength relative to Wood and Pro Elves is that many Dark Elf players have AV8. Even with new Claw, I find that not everybody in every team has it, so in most blocks you take, you don't face Claw.
I think that Pro Elves are a good candidate on building a succesfull high TV winning team. I think Dolls' Pro Popes are a good example of one. I think he is very experienced with Pro Elves.

Heh Dark Elves have won 4 Black Box Brawls, the other elfs have won 0. :D
Although it might look different in the Box Majors.
