Read the big news today:
Vast cheating uncovered
What feels worrying to me is that those cheating teams equal 40% of top 35 teams (TS wise) in the Cup, 5% of the Cup overall. I personally drew one of those teams (8th TS wise) on 2nd round (bye on 1st) and lost by 1 goal in a 'tight' match. I don't mind that much as I probably wouldn't have made it too far, but would've been nice to meet a real team instead of a monster one.
I checked the banned cup participants through and found out that about half of them were most likely 2nd accos, clearly under 100 games, most with only one used team in them. Alerting was that 4 of the banned were high CR coaches (pos 34 and up). I'd like to think that coaches that high should know better/have the skills to get their teams skilled with legit gaming. The upper half of the coaches have over 3000 [R] games played on about 100 teams with all combined... seems such a waste to lose them all, well deserved of course.
All this just brings up more questions: Has it happened before and will it happen again? I'm sure the answer for both questions is 'yes', but I hope this big caught and publishing will rise the risk so high that it will drop interest of such actions from a random gamer and experienced ones too.
Big /cheer to keen eyed informants pointing the admins to the right direction and to all admins & Christer doing a really good job, which is often unappreciated. Thank you for making Fumbbl a bit nicer & fairer place to be.
