Six months have passed since my last game. Turns out FUMBBL is still around. Bummer. I thought someone would have said "Hey, Mezir isn't here, we should stop playing" by now. I may have overestimated my (considerable) importance to this community. Or perhaps folks here are simply of the extremely impolite variety (a distinct possibility).

Six months have passed, and I'm writing another blog entry, because apparently this is what I do when I return from a short sabbatical. It's tradition. Yeah, I'm allowed to invent traditions. Mostly, though, I wanted to spout more parochial wisdoms about Bloodbowl - that game which drives us all to come back here again and again. You've heard them all before, but they're still revevelations every time you realise them once again.

I played my first BlackBox game today (you started a new division without me? You cads!) and, naturally, I drew Khemri. My rats were in for a pounding. Now this was a welcome back game FUMBBL style. First half is all mine - one linerat takes a Badly Hurt to the face, but other than that it's smooth sailing as I cruise to a 1 - 0 half time score. Excellent dice. Didn't have to re-roll a single dodge - always a fun sensation.

Then the second half rolls around. Three rats on LoS and one Blitz on a Storm Vermin. They all go to the cas box. Two KO Gutter Runners and a Thrower who niggles himself on a dodge (isn't it just so typical that the game's only perm is from a dodge?) later, I am being pressed face down into the toilet bowl, forced to eat my last offering upon the altar of Nuffle. From great to frustrating in 2 minutes - BB as we know it.

But the never die spirit never, uh, dies, and one Storm Vermin and his Gutter Runner buddy just keep dodging and blitzing and suddenly there's an opening for a 1d which comes up a beautiful, pristine POW! As the Khemri scramble to collect it, the hapless skeleton trying to pick it up fumbles and the one remaining Gutter Runner scampers in, scoops it up amid a bunch of skeletons and punts it downfield, only to rush on for the touch-down when the one skeleton that could make it two turns later kills himself on the final GFI (he regens). From frustrating back to warm and fuzzy.

MVP to that Gutter and double fives on the skill roll. Aaah - my life is complete (this sentence added because I like using brackets). Naturally, though, Nuffle doesn't stop there. With nine rats into the next game I have 40k in the treasury. Not enough for the Apothecary I so desperately need. Awesome! Just like I remember! BETTER THAN THE REAL THING!

I can go away again. I've had everything I come to FUMBBL for condensed into one game. Here's your fix, ya junkie, now get lost.
