I'm back!
So I moved house! That has been a major distraction in my life :) but a welcome one.

Gone reasonably well so far, I'd call it a satisfactory pushback result so far ;) and now have finally re-set-up the PC, huzzah!

Anyway, I had a spare moment today to dive back on but the gamefinder is a bit dead. Tried to get a game going today but my opponent either lost connection or ghosted me. He may have been busy ofc, not too concerned.

Looking for some advice if there is an optimum time to hit up for games, and/or if different game modes will get me games quicker? Blackbox sounds interesting, but I don't know if me and my team(s) are too rookie to be allowed to play.

The Klaives await some fresh victims lol :) (who am I kidding? :P)

To play black box you have to create a team in black box. If you are new to Fumbbl though I might not suggest that as its tough.

As for good times to play most players are in Europe time zones. Anytime after 1900 server time stats getting busy as people return from work.

Also leagues are now very popular

Hi
I'd suggest joining the 145 club (league) - I have recently and it seems a really good place to get started.
Then as above, black box and ranked tend to be busier in the evenings. Both are good.
Cheers!

If you hover over the 'FUMBBL' tab top left there then click 'Statistics' there's a break-down for hourly. Seems the busiest times are about 20:00 to 23:00 BBtime - welcome back!

Hi, I suggest to try Black Box.
The division helps to improve your coaching skills because you can't be picked nor you can pick your opponents' teams and races.
Otherwise, you could be tempted by picking easy games (it doesn't make you better) or be picked by way better coaches than you all time (and being stomped without learning anything).

If you like exploring the bizarre, there has also been a fair bit of interest in Secret League games as well: https://fumbbl.com/p/group?op=view&group=10263

(Never hurts to toss into Blackbox, and if that fails activation, try to get a game in gamefinder with Ranked, Stunty Leeg, Open League, and Secret League teams all at once! 8-D )

For what it may be worth: Though I've been on this Site since 2011, I took a long break (like 3 or so years) because I was discouraged about my coaching skill. I eventually came back to give Blood Bowl another go because, well, it is the greatest game.

I eventually decided to try Blackbox. At first, I will admit that it was very discouraging because I was getting absolutely decimated... But watching replays of my losses, reviewing what I did vs. what my opponents did, etc., really did help. I think the box really nice because it forces you into bad matchups; either by team rosters or by who is coaching (or sometimes both). I don't think I'm a good coach by any means, but forcing myself into matches (and all of the "bad matchups" involved) in the Box really helped me as a coach.

With that being said, depending on how new you are to the game, I think maybe joining the 145 as others have suggested is a good plan for now; but I'd definitely recommend checking out the Box as soon as you feel like it! Besides, what is the worst that can happen? :)
